This beach has the finest sand and clean water, known as “the best beach under heaven.” Begin with a swim to warm up or rent a beach buggy for a relaxing ride in the sea breeze—you won’t want to leave. In the afternoon, the sun warms the sea just right for all kinds of water activities. Jet skis, banana boats, and parasailing are all available. Silver Beach stretches 24 kilometers east to west, offering plenty of water fun. Be sure to bargain confidently with vendors. Jet ski prices range from about 80 to 120 yuan for 10 minutes. The most impressive treasure to me was undoubtedly the bronze drum with egret motifs. It occupies the visual center of the exhibition hall. This Western Han Dynasty bronze drum, unearthed in 1976 from Tomb No. 1 at Luobowan, Guixian County, Guangxi, is 36.8 cm high and 56.4 cm in diameter. It is the most exquisite and complete bronze drum among all archaeological finds to date. The sun motif at the center of the drumhead emits twelve rays of light, and the six groups of winged figures rowing boats on the drum's chest vividly depict a dragon boat race. As a standard artifact for dating similar bronze drums, it is not only the pinnacle of Guangxi bronze drum culture but also embodies the Zhuang ancestors' worship of the sun and their prayers for a bountiful harvest. Standing before it, I could almost hear the drumbeats from two thousand years ago traveling through time. Adjacent to the bronze drum are the bronze phoenix lamps with feather patterns. These lamps, unearthed in 1971 from the Western Han Dynasty tomb at Wangniuling, Hepu County, are shaped like two phoenixes looking back, their bodies adorned with exquisitely engraved feathers.
