This is a free zoo located about 10-15 minutes by bus from downtown Chicago. The bus stop is right in front of the entrance, making it very easy to access from downtown. The zoo is spacious, allowing you to see giraffes, rhinos, polar bears, lions, and other animals up close. The staff were also very friendly; no matter which area you went to, a staff member in that area would approach you and readily answer any questions you had.
