The Guidong Erdu Luo clan ancestral hall, also known as the Zhoujiang Luo clan ancestral hall (Chongde Hall) Yuzhang Hall, was first built in the 18th year of the Yongle reign in the Ming dynasty (1420 AD) by the descendants of Shao Jiu Gong. It underwent large-scale renovations during the Qianlong period of the Qing dynasty, which established the current main layout. It has been repaired several times on a smaller scale in later generations and was fully restored in recent years, preserving the overall Ming and Qing architectural style. Dating back about 600 years, it is one of the oldest ancestral halls still standing in Guidong. This hall belongs to the Yuzhang Luo clan. The founding ancestor Luo Ju (Shao Jiu Gong) migrated from Jishui, Jiangxi to Guidong Erdu at the end of the Song and beginning of the Yuan dynasties. His descendants are widely distributed across Guidong, Sichuan, Chongqing, Guizhou, and other areas. The building faces south and opens to the north, with two courtyards and one central skylight. It features a brick and wood structure blending Xiangnan and Gan architectural styles, with a hard mountain roof, fireproof mountain walls, and a penetrating wooden frame. The site covers about 940㎡, with a registered building area of 1,573.18㎡. The ancestral hall retains wooden carved beams and lintels, ancient couplets, and Qing dynasty steles. The journey from Ganzhou takes around 2–3 hours. I wanted to visit a hot spring, so I chose Rongyuan Hot Spring, which is included in the annual travel pass. The hot spring is located at the foot of Wugong Mountain, on the border of Yichun and Ji'an. There are a few pools and not many people, so it's a good place to visit if you're in the area. The hot spring opens at 2 pm, so I set off at 11 am and left for Ji'an at 4 pm. ✅ First stop: Lao San Private Kitchen (a must-visit) Recommendation: The food is delicious and the restaurant is very popular. It's a food stall, but the food is so good that you can ignore the environment. I want to go back just for this meal. Around CNY 50 per person. ✅ Second stop: Luling Ji Tea Recommendation: This is Ji'an's own version of Chayanyuese. It's very photogenic, but there aren't many stores. I recommend getting a drink when you visit Nengren Lane. Around CNY 13 per drink. ✅ Third stop: Xu Ji Lobster Recommendation: They serve stir-fried dishes, barbecue, and crayfish.
