Kami Town | Be a leisurely farmer in a secluded fairytale town in Tohoku
Having spent a long time in Japan, I always felt that every place was labeled. Tokyo is a magical city 🌃 Kyoto is an ancient cultural capital 👘 Osaka is bustling with fireworks 🍜 Hokkaido is a romantic snow country ❄️ Kyushu is a hot spring paradise ♨️
But what truly surprised me was the Tohoku region, which many people overlook.
Here, there are no crowds, no overwhelming number of Instagrammable spots, but instead, pristine, wild mountain fields and the people who quietly protect this land 🌿
This summer, if you want to escape the city, why not take a trip to Kami Town 👉 a fairytale town in Tohoku that's not even easily noticed on a map? Slow down here and be a carefree mountain farmer for a few days.
📍Yakurai Highland Hot Spring Health Center Comprehensive Exchange Center Minal Facility
The first thing to do upon arriving in Kami Town is, of course, to soak in the hot springs ♨️
Change into a yukata and chat and laugh with the enthusiastic locals. The air was unbelievably clear at dusk, and at night you could soak in an open-air hot spring while gazing at the starry sky ✨ The healing feeling is truly indescribable.
📍KAMIFUJI
This is the place I most want to recommend this time 🐻❄️
A wooden cabin guesthouse hidden in the fields, unassuming on the outside but full of surprises. The owner is incredibly welcoming, the Western food is super delicious, and they also have specialty Northeastern-style barbecue 🍖
This place feels like a place that lets you restart your life.
I met a Spanish-Chinese girl who was cycling around Japan, and listened to her stories. Although the language wasn't entirely smooth, happiness and sincerity never need translation ❤️. During the day, I lay in a chair gazing at the endless fields, and in the evening, I had a few drinks and chatted with the owner and guests from all over the world. At that moment, I suddenly realized that life can have so many colors 🌈
📍Yakurai Garden
Finally found a Furano alternative that isn't crowded 💐
This place is like a hidden garden secret, with a huge area. A variety of flowers and plants fill the view 🌷🌼🌿
Looking up, you see the pristine mountain scenery of Northeast China; looking down, you're surrounded by a vibrant sea of flowers. You feel light and carefree.
No queues, no rushing, just a quiet stroll into this world of flowers and plants.
And the floral merchandise and souvenirs here are just so adorable 💖 You want to take them all home!
📍Mount Yakurai
A small, unassuming mountain that's easily overlooked, just a few tens of minutes to the top ⛰️
No difficult routes, no noisy tourists, only the purest reverence and love of nature from the locals 🍃
📍Yakurai Shrine, Okumiya II Torii Gate
The enormous red torii gate at the foot of the mountain is truly breathtaking ⛩️
It lacks the bustling atmosphere of the trendy sea torii gates and the crowds of the thousand torii gates.
The pure wooden structure and pure red color blend perfectly with the surrounding mountains and forests 🌲
Standing here, you'll realize that the most beautiful scenery isn't for taking photos, but for those moments that require slowing down to truly appreciate ✨
