Hi everyone! Just wanted to share a quick write-up from my recent trip over to Nevada. Honestly, after a couple of days on the Vegas strip, the bright lights and constant noise got a bit much for me. I’m much more at home wandering through a quiet museum or a historic street, so I decided to rent a car and head out into the desert. Whenever I travel, I always like to pick out two or three classic, must-see historic spots, and these little towns nearby really hit the mark: First up was Boulder City, right next to the Hoover Dam. The dam itself is an absolute engineering marvel—definitely lived up to the hype! But the real highlight for me was the town's Historic District. It’s got a lovely, relaxed vibe, and it was great just strolling around and grabbing a quiet coffee. I also drove out to Mesquite. It’s a fantastic place to slow down for a day or two. I spent a really pleasant afternoon at the Virgin Valley Museum. If you're into local pioneering history like I am, you’ll love the old photos and exhibits there. Lastly, if you fancy something a bit more rugged, Beatty is a great stop on the way to Death Valley. The Rhyolite Ghost Town and the Goldwell Open Air Museum out there are incredibly atmospheric—perfect for a bit of quiet exploring. Have any of you lot been out to these desert towns?
