With so many great cafes in Kochi, I was unsure where to go, but a local friend recommended Fress Trees Garden & Cafe, Edappally, and I decided to check it out. This place is a cafe, restaurant, and botanical garden all in one, offering a wonderful ambiance! I ordered a Lotus Cheesecake and a Cafe Latte, which cost 483 rupees (approximately 8,000 KRW). While the Lotus Cheesecake was a bit too sweet for my taste, the latte was absolutely delightful. The latte art was so beautiful that I almost felt bad drinking it. Even though I ordered a regular latte, it had a strong mocha flavor, making it even more enjoyable. Surrounded by plants, I found it relaxing to sip delicious coffee and read a book. It was a peaceful and rejuvenating experience, enjoying both the greenery and my book. Additionally, the cafe is conveniently located just a 5-7 minute walk from LuLu Mall, the largest mall in Kerala, making it a great spot to relax after shopping. Conveniently located just a 2-minute walk from Palarivattom Metro Station, the café is easily accessible by public transport. There are also plenty of bus stops nearby and a spacious parking area, making it a very accessible spot. The menu offers a variety of options, including coffee, beverages, desserts, and meals. Although I had already eaten before visiting, I only ordered coffee, but the food other customers were enjoying looked very appetizing! I ordered the Crunchy Almond Latte, which cost 263 rupees (approximately 4,300 KRW) including tax. The coffee cup was beautiful, and the latte art was lovely, making the experience even more enjoyable. The crunchy almonds on top added a delightful texture, and the coffee aroma was fantastic, making it a truly satisfying drink. True to South Indian hospitality, the staff were incredibly friendly, which made me very happy. The Wi-Fi was fast, allowing me to spend a leisurely afternoon at the café. Additionally, the staff were filming a Christmas cookie advertisement and asked me to play the role of a customer, giving me the unique opportunity to appear in their ad. As a token of appreciation, they even gave me a delicious blueberry cake as a complimentary treat. It was such a memorable experience. Watching the sunset at the Kerala Backwaters, which flow through the city of Kochi, was an unforgettable experience. The Kochi Backwaters are formed by seven rivers converging into the Arabian Sea. There are boat docks located 20-30 minutes by car from Kochi city center where you can board a boat to explore the backwaters. Simply search for 'Kochi Backwaters' on Google Maps to find the location. A two-hour boat ride costs $40 per boat. While you can share the boat with other passengers if there are enough people, I had to rent the boat alone as there were no other visitors at the time. Although June marks the monsoon season in Kochi, I was fortunate to have excellent weather during my visit. Riding the boat while enjoying the cool river breeze and stunning scenery made me incredibly happy. I timed my visit to coincide with sunset, allowing me to fully appreciate the breathtaking Kochi sunset. During the ride, I spotted rare birds like eagles and kingfishers. I also stopped by a small café along the way to enjoy a refreshing coconut drink. Travel 🇮🇳 Kochi, Kerala, India 🍀 Aryass Regent I am currently traveling in Kochi, Kerala, South India. India has a large vegetarian population, so there are many famous vegetarian restaurants. During my trip to Kochi a year ago, I visited Aryass Regent, a vegetarian restaurant, and enjoyed the food so much that I decided to visit again. Aryass is a chain restaurant, so you can find a location close to where you are. This restaurant was recommended by an Indian friend from Kochi during my previous visit, and I loved it so much that I promised myself to return! I ordered a set menu featuring dosa served with coconut chutney and sambar, along with idly, Paneer 65, and lassi. On my way out, I also bought a grape juice. All of this cost just 335 rupees, which is less than 6,000 won—a very affordable meal in South India. Dosa is a South Indian-style pancake made from fermented batter. It’s crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, offering an addictive taste. Pairing it with sambar and coconut chutney makes it even more delicious. Tearing off a piece and dipping it into the coconut chutney is simply irresistible! Idly, a fermented rice bread, is a staple in South India. Aryass’s idly has a wonderfully fluffy texture. Whenever I visit India, I always drink lassi, a traditional fermented Indian beverage. South Indian cuisine includes many fermented foods, both in meals and drinks, which aid digestion and make you feel comfortable. Paneer 65 is one of my favorite dishes. It features soft paneer fried and coated in a flavorful sauce called 65. The portion was so generous that I thought I wouldn’t be able to finish it, but it disappeared quickly! Most notably, the rooftop pool on the 16th floor offers a fantastic view of Kochi city. On a sunny day, you can swim while enjoying the lush green scenery of Kochi. Highly recommended hotel in Kerela. Nice and new facilities like a rooftop pool and room is spacious and nicely decorated with style. The restaurant of the hotel offers delicious local food and the prices are affordable compared to Bangalore where I travelled from. There is a new shopping mall named Forum just beside the hotel accessible from the third floor of the hotel.
