These two places are just day trips from Krabi town in southern Thailand. Railey beach or Phra nang beach are two of the most photogenic beaches in Thailand with the towering limestone cliffs situated near the beach. Phra nang beach has fine sand and looks at Ko Rang Nok island (some people call it Chicken Island) only 400 meters away. It is possible to swim to it or walk during low tide. The sea water is clean and refreshing and no boats are allowed to operate in this bay. To get here tours go from Krabi or take a local taxi boat to railey east and walk ten minutes via a sign marked boardwalk/concrete path. Crystal lake or Mirror lake or Klong Root is a fresh water lake fed by an inland river. The water is fantastic cool and clean. Here you can swim for free or rent kayaks to paddle around. It is really well known by the villagers living in the area and people looking a bit off the trodden trail. It is easily reached by about an hour scooter ride from Krabi or air-conditioned taxi if the 40 Degree days are too much. The parking lot has a small fee and there are a few shops, restaurants and stalls selling cold drinks, snacks and light meals. I've seen so many reviews of this place, and seeing it with my own eyes makes me completely understand why everyone loves it! 🥹 The water is crystal clear and freezing cold. The atmosphere is nicely shaded, making it absolutely perfect for a swim. 💰 The entrance fee is just 30 baht, and if you want to rent a boat, it's only an extra 40 baht! I was really impressed by the lovely staff taking care of the place. 🥰 We also got to see "Nong Khai Tun," the resident otter (though he was fast asleep when we visited 😂), and there were butterflies fluttering everywhere. If you're traveling to Surat Thani, I highly recommend making a stop here. It's totally worth more than the price! 💚🍃

Krabi is beautiful on its own, but the real magic begins once you hop on a longtail boat. I joined a classic 4 Islands tour from Ao Nang, and every stop looked like it belonged on a postcard. Towering limestone cliffs rose straight out of emerald water, hidden beaches appeared around every corner, and the sea was so calm you could see the boats reflecting on the surface. My favorite stop was Phra Nang Beach. The swing hanging from the tree, the soft white sand, and the iconic longtail boats created one of the prettiest beach scenes I’ve ever seen. It’s easy to understand why this beach appears on so many Thailand travel guides. Cruising past Chicken Island and the dramatic limestone cliffs was just as memorable. The scenery constantly changed, and every few minutes I found myself reaching for my camera. 💰 Price: Most 4 Islands tours cost around ฿600 to ฿1,500 (US$18 to $45) depending on whether you choose a longtail boat or speedboat. Most packages include hotel pickup, lunch, snorkeling gear, and drinking water. Tip: Book a longtail boat if you’re not in a rush.
