Each room features a private open-air hot spring bath, perfect for couples or families to relax and unwind in the evening while enjoying the view. The restaurant offers a set menu with two meals per night, featuring fresh and exquisite food—a truly wonderful experience. Yufu City - Yufuin Owl Forest 1503-3 Yufu City, Oita Prefecture This is a paradise for close interaction with owls. The animals are all incredibly cute, making it a great place for families or friends to take photos. Open Monday to Friday 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM, extended to 5:30 PM on weekends. Remember to make online reservations in advance, as it gets very crowded on weekends. Aso City - Aso Geopark + Nakadake First Crater Exploration Route Aso City, Kumamoto Prefecture / 〒869-2225 Kumamoto, Aso, Kurokawa, Crater Mount Aso is definitely the most breathtaking natural wonder of the entire trip. The Nakadake First Crater Exploration Route has a complete walking trail, offering spectacular views of the crater on a clear day, with fresh air that is truly invigorating. The geopark is large, so it's recommended to allow at least half a day for a thorough exploration. Usa City - Kyushu Natural Zoo 2-1755-1, Ajimumachi Minamihata, Oita, Usa, Japan 872-0722 Opening hours: 9:30 AM to 3:00 PM. The zoo boasts a wide variety of animals, making it ideal for family trips. The animals are quite lively, so it's best to visit slowly in the morning when there are fewer people. You can even drive around the zoo, a unique experience. Itoshima City - Sakurai Futamiura Meotoi Rocks Itoshima's seascape is absolutely stunning, making it the place I most want to revisit during this trip. The Sakurai Futamiura Meotoi Rocks are tranquil and perfect for taking photos. There are many hidden gem restaurants nearby, perfect for a leisurely stroll after a meal. If you're looking for a place to avoid the crowds and enjoy the soothing seascape, Itoshima is highly recommended! Transportation and Accommodation Tips - SEKIYA RESORT Terrace Midohara Ryokan is best enjoyed by car, as parking is available. If you don't have a car, it's recommended to book a shuttle bus or taxi service in advance. - Most attractions are accessible by car/bus. Purchasing a Kyushu region one-day transportation pass is highly recommended to save time and transportation costs. Food Recommendations - Beppu and Itoshima areas have many seafood and local eateries. On Itoshima, the seafood rice bowls, grilled oysters, and handmade desserts are must-try dishes. Cafes generally have ocean-view seating, perfect for Instagram-worthy photos! - Ryokan dinners are prepared with care and fresh ingredients. Remember to book a two-meal set meal for your stay. Hidden Itinerary Tips - The Aso volcano trail is quite long; comfortable shoes and your own water are recommended. - Beppu onsen is best enjoyed in the evening to avoid crowds and enjoy the night view. - Itoshima attractions are relatively quiet. For a soothing ocean view experience, weekdays are best. A stroll along the coast after lunch is very relaxing. If you want to experience the tranquility of nature and the delights of hot springs and gourmet food all in one trip, I highly recommend this itinerary.
