Okinawa Onna Village 🏖️ Living between Okinawa and Bali (plus more) 🌐 Although I live in Okinawa, I decided to stay in Onna Village for a change of scenery and to explore the northern area! Last time, I stayed in an ocean-view room, but this time I opted for the most affordable mountain-view room as my purpose was different. The room was on the 3rd/4th floor, and with no buildings obstructing the view, the windows could be opened, letting in plenty of light. It was quite pleasant 🙆♀️ The hotel features a private beach, and recently, more saunas have been added 🧖♀️ Additionally, there are plenty of activities available, and the best part is that you can use the pool, hot springs, and gym at the affiliated "Okinawa Kariyushi Beach Resort Ocean Spa." 🙌 The hot springs are available for a fee of 600 yen ♨︎ There’s also a shuttle bus service 🚌 Since there are few restaurants in the area and they tend to be fully booked even on weekdays, it’s best to make reservations in advance. Daisekirinzan ASMUI Spiritual Hikes is the largest energy spot in Okinawa, located at Cape Hedo on the northernmost tip of Okinawa's main island. In the Yanbaru Forest, four rocky mountains stand tall, resembling human profiles. From the pointed chin to the nose tip, they are sequentially named: Shinokuse, Afuri, Shijara, and Iheya. Daisekirinzan is one of the main tourist attractions in the Yanbaru area and one of the few limestone terrains in Kunigami Village. In addition to its unique geological landscapes, visitors can observe various forms of wildlife, such as snails commonly found in limestone terrains and plants adapted to the limestone environment. Admission is ¥1,200, and there are four hiking trails, each corresponding to one of the four wonders: the Beautiful Ocean Observatory, Mysterious Rocks and Boulders, Heart Rock, and Banyan Tree Forest. For those interested in geology, the Stone Museum near the entrance is worth a visit. It is recommended to allocate about 1.5 to 2 hours for the experience.

70 minutes from Naha Airport. A hotel with a quiet private beach in the northern part of Okinawa. Take the shuttle bus from Naha city once a day, take a break on the way, and you'll arrive at the hotel in no time. The hotel is mainly cottages. The grounds are large, so if you ask, they will provide a cart to move around the grounds. The view from the sea breeze lounge is amazing, and if the weather is good, you can watch the sunset while drinking a beer. The hotel staff are all friendly, and no matter how many times you go to the bathing facility, they will give you a towel with a smile ♪ It's great after cooling off in the sea or pool. If you ask us about the most impressive spot in Okinawa, "Cape Hedo" easily takes the crown as a once-in-a-lifetime, "must-see" destination! 🌺Vibe: If you can't quite picture what epic, Jurassic Park-style cliffs look like, this is your answer! We got there around 5:00 PM just as the sun was starting to set. The cool ocean breeze combined with the sound of waves crashing against the jagged cliffs... the sweeping panoramic views were simply breathtaking. Seriously, it’s gorgeous. 🥹 Around the Cape Hedo area, there's also a Tourist Information Center. It features a second-floor cafe and a rooftop observation deck for panoramic views, alongside the iconic Yanbaru Kuina bird statue and the Monument Commemorating the Reversion of Okinawa to Japan. 🚘Getting There: Cape Hedo is located at the absolute northernmost tip of the island, so renting a car is your best bet. Visited around 12:30 PM on a weekday, April 26th. When people think of sightseeing in northern Okinawa, Cape Hedo usually comes to mind, but we discovered this World Natural Heritage site and decided to visit. The result? I highly recommend it! You can really feel the magnificent nature of Asumui and imagine the ancient era when it was completely underwater. Between the carefully constructed walking trails that harmonize with nature, the free multilingual audio guide app, and the incredibly kind staff, it's a truly worthwhile experience. Another great point is that you can choose a course that fits your available time and physical condition. If you have time to spare, I strongly suggest checking out the Spirit forest course. You'll get to see plenty of large, mystical banyan trees. For us, taking our time to see everything took about 2.5 hours. One piece of advice: make sure to download the audio guide app and the audio files at the Stone museum right at the start. It works offline even when you lose cell service on the trails.
