The first stop on my itinerary was the famous Lord Stow’s Bakery, known for its iconic egg tarts. I ordered freshly baked egg tarts, which had a crispy pastry crust and a soft custard filling with a perfect balance of egg and milk flavors. The caramelized top added a Portuguese touch. Eating them warm was truly delightful, and I understood why they are renowned across Asia. After spending some time strolling and taking photos around the bakery, it was time for lunch. I chose Chan Seng Kei, a local restaurant offering Macau and Cantonese-style dishes. The flavors were rich, the portions generous, and the prices reasonable. After eating, we slowly made our way to the Ruins of St. Paul to experience the bustling crowds. As expected of a famous tourist spot, the weekend crowd on Rua de São Paulo was overwhelming, making it hard to fully enjoy the shops along the street, which was a bit of a pity. By the way, the Uniqlo there has locally-themed clothing that’s quite worth buying. For dinner, we had Portuguese cuisine. Unfortunately, we couldn’t get a reservation at our original choice, so we opted for a nearby Portuguese restaurant. The crowds on Rua do Cunha were just as intense as those at the Ruins of St. Paul, so we gave up on trying the famous Lord Stow’s egg tarts 🥲. This area is perfect for those who enjoy shopping at malls, and we also tried Shake Shack. Wynn Palace is truly magnificent, and the free water fountain show is fantastic. Make sure to queue on the second floor; we waited less than 20 minutes and caught the 7:00 PM show 🤩. For souvenirs, we shopped at the airport, where you can find Koi Kei Bakery and Yeng Kee Bakery with a wide variety of options. The hotel's location is relatively remote compared to other hotels, but the environment is excellent. The hotel's garden is its biggest highlight, making you feel as if you are in a European castle garden. The breakfast is highly recommended for its great value. The cost for two people is about 600 TWD, which is considered very affordable in the high-cost city of Macau. The breakfast is very abundant, and I especially enjoyed the braised dishes early in the morning, particularly the delicious pork intestines. I give it a thumbs up.
