Wat Luang Khun Win, Chiang Mai
Wat Luang Khun Win, a beautiful and ancient temple in Chiang Mai, in the middle of the forest, magnificent wood art, extremely unseen
The history of this temple is that it is said that the Lord Buddha once visited the area where Wat Luang Khun Win is located. It is said that there were two Lawa people, Khun Sap and Khun Sa Meuang, who asked for hair relics. The Lord Buddha granted them and built a pagoda to cover it on a low peak called Phra That Mon Pia.
Highlights of Wat Luang Khun Win
However, because Wat Luang Khun Win is a temple far from the community, there is no electricity, only solar power, and there is no good road to the temple, making it difficult to access. Therefore, there are not many tourists traveling here. However, there are many beautiful buildings inside the temple, such as the standing Buddha chapel (the glass walking meditation posture), the reclining Buddha chapel (the parinirvana posture), which is a carved wooden Buddha statue, and the Naga stairs, etc.
