A Catholic pilgrim site in Northern Philippines is the Minor Basilica of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary of Manaoag in Manaoag, Pangasinan, Philippines. It’s home to a miraculous image of the Virgin Mary and the Child Jesus. Thousands go to the place yearly with their devotions and pleas. Best accessed via TPLEX from Manila, then you exit via Binalonan. The Church is right at the town center, where the Town Hall is also located. It’s also at the heart of the town’s commercial hub. You’ll see a lot of vendors selling Catholic memorabilia as well as local food delicacies for bringing home to loved ones. Our Lady is fondly known as “Apo Baket.”

Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary of Manaoag is a major pilgrimage site in Manaoag, Pangasinan, The Philippines. While there you can visit and pray to the first Lady statue. This is found right at the entrance of the grounds. By it is an area where you can light a candle, offer a mass, and say a prayer. Then visit the Church where the main statue of Our Lady Of Manaoag is found. She sits there beautifully in her white gown. Many people come far and wide to pray for any intention they may have. Eg. If sick, to get better; if they have an upcoming exam, to pass; people pray for their family, for safe travels, for themselves. Many people believe that by visiting Our Lady, she grants the wishes of even those who are considered, hopeless as and helpless. Climbing a few flights of stairs you will come to an area where you can touch the dress of the Virgin Mary. You literally can only stick your hands through the hole, as to protect the dress itself. To do this you will have to queue up. It is usually always busy there, especially during the feast days on the third Wednesday after Easter and first Sunday of October. I have a very big admiration on churches and temples as a form of art and expression aside from mere religious structures. Every church evokes a special message of the people within the community as well as the ingenuity of the builders to capture these facets. I went for a quick visit at Our Lady of Manaog in Pangasinan. This is probably one of the most visited churches and is popular for pilgrims as it is said to have had some miraculous activities. The church is Spanish-Romanesque, with a little touch of German and Italian Renaissance architectural composition. A big octagonal dome surmounts at the point where the nave and the transepts converge forming a cruciform contour. At the center of convergence of the church is the image of Our Lady of Manaoag where it appears floating in the middle of a wooden altar. it is not the first time I visited the place but every visit to Our Lady of Manaog always breathes air to new insights and reflections. #newyearadventure

the manaoag church is old church but is well preserved ang beautiful worth to drive gratefull for all the blessings that were granted and will be granted 😊.. the place have a Spacious grounds but expects a lot of people..parking is a bit difficult locals are aggressive when offering you a parking at the fort of the church they will sell you a bundle of candles in exchange for the parking space😂 😂 just a friendly reminder be aware of people taking advantage of you..best time to go there early in the morning so not to be burned by the sun and don't forget to use sunscreen for your skin protection.#roadtrips #gooutside
