LUZON DATUM: THE CENTER OF THE PHILIPPINES
From Dalahican Ferry Terminal in Lucena, I travelled by Roro of Montenegro Lines to Balanacan Port in Marinduque. Then I travel by land to reach Brgy. Hinanggayon, Mogpog. Afterwards, it takes less than an hour to walk uphill to Mt. Mataas which is roughly 220 meters above sea level and with 468 steps up to the summit. There I find Luzon Datum of 1911 with the iconic stone marker that considers to be the reference point for all surveys and mapping activities in the Philippines. On top, I appreciate the view. And most importantly, the Statue of Our Lady of PIAT at the center of the Philippines. Mabuhay!#luzon datum#our lady of piat#mountainview#oceanview#mytripvlog#center of the philippines

Maniwaya Island - Good weekend getaway in Sta Cruz Marinduque

First time in Maniwaya, even though we’ve been in Marinduque multiple times (my parents grew up here). Don’t expect fancy pristine beaches here. Underdeveloped, but has several resorts to visit. We rented a boat, and this was our 2nd stop (1st one was the rock formation in Mongpong, which looks cool). We were in one of the resorts where the beach is filled with what I thought were seaweeds, but were just leaves. Quite annoying. Wawee resort has fewer leaves and looks nicer. However, we had a wonderful lunch. Got a huge fish and we asked them to make sinigang, and it tastes amazing! The staff was really helpful and accommodating. They really took care of us. Would I come back here? Sure. Maybe stay overnight. It’s a great escape from city life for sure. Great place to chill, relax & feast. But if you’re looking for an amazing beach that will make you say “wow”, this is not the place for you.
Our 3rd stop was Palad Sand Bar, and that one can make you “wow”. We were there at 2 pm, and the water was knee deep from the sand bar. We waited til we could see the sand bar, and it’s so cool! Water is soooo clear and pretty. So nice to snorkel and swim. The sandbar is not very huge, so it can get crowded. At 2 pm, there were only 2 boats. We left after 5 pm, and there were maybe 12 boats.
Marinduque is an amazing place to visit, and I’m so glad they’re discovering new islands and sights for everyone to experience. Hope their government stays on top of these tourist destinations to maintain their beauty, cleanliness, and serenity.

A picturesque stop!
#philippinestrip
Buenavista View Deck is a tranquil and picturesque stop that blends breathtaking coastal views with meaningful cultural support. When we passed by, the weather was rainy, so we decided to pull over, grab a warm cup of coffee from the small eatery, and take shelter while enjoying the misty, dramatic view of Ulugan Bay. Surrounded by lush greenery and low-hanging clouds, the scene felt serene and cinematic. As we waited for the rain to stop, we explored the nearby souvenir shop filled with locally made crafts wooden carvings, baskets, and handmade trinkets. Whether you're resting, shopping, or simply soaking in the view, this is one pitstop that leaves a lasting impression.

This is our 1st travel after 2years of quarantine due to Covid Pandemic.. It was nervous because we might have to go to quarantine protocol of the province but thankfully all was well and turn out to be enjoyable because of the island party. Vibes/night party at the beach...

Second time to visit province of Marinduque, when it comes to night life happenings i would recommend Maniwaya Island, Marinduque. Traveling to this province would take you around 5 to 6hrs. by a van.. Including boat transfers going to the island...
Good food, Tent accommodation in the beach and alcoholic drinks and live band music nightlife on the side are the best bonding and relaxing moments we had with my friends.. Surely I will come back again for another great adventure at marinduque.

Star fish everywhere. Maniwaya Island as sun set starfish are getting around at Maniwaya Island. But please take note Leave the shells, starfish, and corals alone, do not take them home as souvenirs. Respect the marine life is a must. #starfish #bucketlistreboot

La Presa of Marinduque
I’ve always drawn to beautiful sceneries like this one. If you’re traveling in the Philippines, you might want to consider going to Marinduque. This place is just one of the relaxing places in Sta. Cruz Marinduque. Beaches and Mountains there are superb, Marinduqueños are so kind and the food is luscious!
