Personal experience: Taking kids to play in August is cool, affordable, and saves you a lot of trouble.

When you take your children to Mount Wuyi, don't rush to the top of the sky. Children can't climb, and adults will suffer. My way of going is: before 9 am to Wuyi Palace, first take a bamboo raft rafting Jiuqu Creek, the whole process about an hour and a half, the sound of water sizzling, both banks of the Danxia mountain wall directly to the eyes, the children all the way looking at the fish in the water, do not care about tired.
📍Bamboo Raft Pier is near the south entrance of the scenic spot, remember to make a reservation one day in advance on the official number, the queue to buy tickets on site is likely to be hopeless. Just noon after the rafting, the sun began to heat up, directly hide in the Song Street next to Wuyi Palace, find a small shop to eat a bowl of Arashi Valley smoked goose with white rice, thirty dollars per person, goose meat smoky rich flavor, children will love if they eat spicy. Don't arrange to climb the mountain in the afternoon. Take your children to the entrance of a line of sky cave to enjoy the coolness. It's always cold inside. After walking for a while, you'll come out. The body feels a few degrees lower than outside.
⏰ After 5:30 pm, go to the shallow beach at the foot of Jade Girl Peak to tread water, the water only reaches the calf, cool, children playing with water guns can play for an hour.
⚠️ Don't buy tea in the scenic area, the price is inflated, really want to bring some specialties, back to the city to buy half cheaper than the scenic area.

This line of Nantong Haohe River, which I would call "lazy baby-sitting ceiling", is flat all the way, and there is no pressure to push the cart. In the morning, from the Huanxi Cultural Plaza, walk north along the Hao River Trail, with the river on your left and the shade of sycamore trees on your right. Walking to the East Coast Green, there is a small children’s playground with free slides and sand pits.
🍜 At noon, take your children to eat a bowl of Nantong jumping noodles near Temple Street. The noodles are bouncy and the soup is fresh and sweet. The children can eat them all for $8 for a small bowl. In the afternoon, we changed to Nantong Museum, remember to make a reservation in advance, there is plenty of air conditioning inside, and you can see the exhibits of Jianghai culture. The children were particularly interested in the big whale skeleton and turned around several times.
⏰ Return to the river in the evening, walk from the Long Bridge to the Peace Bridge this section, the lights just light up, the water reflection is beautiful, suitable for a slow walk to relieve the boredom.
⚠️ The museum is closed on Monday. Don't arrange to go on this day.

The Mysterious Grand Canyon of Tianshan Mountain, with its name "mysterious", is actually a good place to take children to experience the geological wonders. There are almost no trees in the canyon, but the walls are towering, most of the road is in the shade, and the body feels much cooler than outside. Entering the valley at 10 am, the light is slanting down from the top of the canyon, the rock walls are reddish brown, beautiful for photos, but not good for children to look at the sun. The whole canyon main ditch is about two hours to walk down, the road is gravel, it is recommended to wear non-slip sneakers, I saw with my own eyes someone wearing sandals walking a slippery step.
📍 Shoe covers are available at the entrance of the canyon, ten dollars a pair, but I think there is no need, shoes dirty back to wash.
🍜 At noon, go out at the Uyghur restaurant at the entrance of the scenic spot to eat some bibimbap and toasted buns. Toasted buns are three dollars a piece, lamb stuffed, and the children eat two in a row.
⏰ Two or three in the afternoon the light in the canyon is the darkest, but suitable to continue walking deep, not sun.
⚠️ Do not pick up rocks in the canyon and take them back. The scenic area regulations do not allow it. Security checks will intercept you at the door.

Kaiping Moat this place, before taking the children to I thought to see the "old house", when I went to find the large outdoor maze site. In the morning, we went straight to Zili Village, bought a joint ticket, and strolled through the Mingshi Building, which preserved the furniture and gun holes of the year. The children were particularly curious about the shooting holes on the wall. At noon, I ate rice with yellow eel in the village. It costs $40 per person. The rice is crispy and the children are fighting to eat it. In the afternoon, go to Liyuan, the garden is more exquisite than Zili Village, with pools and roundabouts, more shade, suitable for slow strolling.
📍 About fifteen minutes drive between the two villages, it is recommended to drive, public transportation is not very convenient.
⏰ Go to Ma Jianglong Village in the evening, there are much fewer people, the barracks complex is particularly quiet under the sunset, children can run on the field ridge.
⚠️ The joint ticket is valid on the day, don't think of strolling in two days. If you don't have enough time, just go to Zili Village and Liyuan.
05 Xi'an City | Shaanxi
On the line from Xi'an, I was rushing to Qianling, but I was accidentally attracted to Yuanjia Village. In the morning, we will go to Qianling Mausoleum. The scenic spot is very large. Don't think about walking all the way with your children. Just focus on Sima Road and the Wordless Monument. The stone horses on both sides of Sima Road are more interesting for children to touch and count than to talk about history. At noon, go down the mountain directly to Yuanjia Village, 📍 Navigate to Yuanjia Village Guanzhong Impression Experience Land, convenient parking.
🍜The snack street in the village is the highlight. Biangbiang noodles, tofu brain, and oil cake are all made to order. The children can't blink when they see the master's ramen. In the afternoon, we stroll around the village. There is a shadow puppet show. The tickets are $10 a ticket. The children are fascinated by it.
⏰ In the evening, go to the teahouse at the entrance of the village to sit for a while, drink a bowl of Fu tea, five dollars a bowl, unlimited refills.
⚠️ There is no shade near the wordless monument of Qianling. In summer, children must wear hats. Don't forget to apply sunscreen.
06 Xiangyang City | Hubei
Before taking the kids to this place in Gurung, I was worried that he was bored, and as a result, he was even more excited than I was. In the morning, I entered the scenic spot and went to see Sangu Hall. There are people performing melodrama inside, which is fixed every day. The children can understand the conversation between Liu Bei and Zhuge Liang. They also asked me "Why do Zhuge Liang sleep lazy?" After the performance, we walked up the hill. The road to the Knee Holding Pavilion is shaded by trees. It's not tiring. Children can climb up on their own. At noon, we ate a bowl of Xiangyang beef noodles at the entrance of the scenic spot. It has a strong spicy taste. The children can order non-spicy tofu noodles. The portion is sufficient and a bowl is filling. In the afternoon, we went to Longzhong College, where there was an interactive screen. The children lit Zhuge Liang's "Wooden Cow and Horse" animation and played until they didn't want to leave.
⏰ It is recommended to finish the college before 2pm, then there will be more tours and the experience will decrease.
⚠️ There is a slide project in the scenic spot, fifty dollars a time, I think the value for money is average, ten minutes is over, it is better to save some money for the children to buy a picture book of the Three Kingdoms.
07 Panjin City | Liaoning
In Panjin’s Red Beach, mid-August is at its reddest. Take your children and don't walk through the long canyon at the main entrance. It's crowded and your children will be annoyed halfway through the walk.
📍 Enter from the entrance on the east side of the scenic spot, walk along the corridor deeper, much less people, alkali grass is red, you can't see anywhere at a glance. Arrive around 9am, the light is soft, the photo is not dazzling, and you can see the small crabs running rampant on the beach, the children squatted there for half an hour and refused to leave. There are awnings throughout the corridor, so you don't have to worry about the sun.
🍜 At noon, find a farmhouse outside the scenic spot to eat a plate of Jinhe crab. The August crab is not very fat yet, but it is cheaper. It costs 30 dollars a piece. Try the freshness. In the afternoon, go to the reeds next to you in the wetland, take a battery car around, the wind blows cool, and the children can see the white herons.
⏰ After 5:30 pm, the colors of Red Beach are deepest in the sunset, which is the best time to take pictures.
⚠️ Don't wear light-colored shoes into the beach, the mud will stick to it and it's hard to wash.
08 Linxia Hui Autonomous Prefecture | Gansu
In the line of summer, I put Liujia Gorge and Bingling Temple on the same day, the rhythm is just right. In the morning, we went to Liujiaxia Tourist Resort and took a cruise to see the reservoir. The water is that clear blue-green color. The children lay on the side of the boat and watched the water splash. They were so happy that they shouted. The boat ride is about an hour, the two banks are Danxia landscape, the wind is not hot. At noon, we had a bowl of summer stuffed skin near the scenic spot. It was sour and spicy. If the children can't eat spicy, there is the original one. It costs five dollars a portion. In the afternoon, go to the Bingling Temple World Cultural Heritage Tourist Area, this is the highlight, about forty minutes by boat, the Buddha statue in the grotto is carved directly on the cliff, children will make a "wow" when looking up.
📍 Remember to make an appointment for boat tickets and tickets in advance on official channels, buying on site is easy to queue up.
⏰ Arrive at Bing Ling Temple before 3pm, the light is shining on the face of the largest Buddha statue, very shocking.
⚠️ Photography is prohibited in the grotto. Do not take out your mobile phone. It will be a bit embarrassing to be reminded by the staff.
For the summer vacation route in August, I helped you kick out the “hot” and “expensive”. These places are either sheltered by mountains, have water for cooling, or have sufficient indoor air conditioning, and the per capita spending is basically controlled within three hundred dollars. Where have you been to with your kids? Or which other cool places, talk in the comment section.
