Hòn Đỏ A Hidden Gem of Ninh Thuận
If you are looking for a unique and adventurous beach getaway, you might want to check out Hòn Đỏ in Ninh Thuận province. Unlike the typical white sand beaches, Hòn Đỏ offers a stunning landscape of rocks and moss that change colors with the tide. You can explore the fascinating marine life in the coral reef, enjoy the spectacular sunrise and sunset, or camp under the starry sky.
Hòn Đỏ is located about 20km from Phan Rang city, and can be reached by motorbike through a scenic route along the casuarinas forest. You will need to walk for about 20 minutes on a golden sand beach before you reach the destination. There are no tourism services or facilities here, so you will need to bring your own tents and food if you plan to stay overnight. But that’s part of the charm of this place: it’s a perfect spot for nature lovers who want to escape from the hustle and bustle of the city.
One of the main attractions of Hòn Đỏ is the fossilized coral reef that covers the shore. The coral reef has various shapes and colors, creating a beautiful contrast with the blue sea and the green moss. You can walk on the reef and discover the hidden treasures of the ocean, such as sea urchins, crabs, starfish, and seaweed. The reef is also a great place for fishing enthusiasts, as you can catch some flying fish that live near the coral.
Another highlight of Hòn Đỏ is the sunrise and sunset that paint the sky with amazing hues. You can watch the sun rise from behind the mountains and set into the sea, creating a romantic and peaceful atmosphere. You can also enjoy the night sky full of stars, and listen to the soothing sound of the waves. If you are lucky, you might even see some fireflies around your tent.
Of course, no trip to Hòn Đỏ is complete without trying some local delicacies. The most famous one is nhum (sea urchin), which has a spiky black shell and a sweet and creamy flesh. You can eat it raw with some lemon juice or wasabi, or grill it with some fried onions and oil. Another specialty is cá đối (flying fish), which can be fried, grilled, or cooked in a sour-sweet broth. You can pair these dishes with some garlic wine made from tỏi mồ côi (orphan garlic), which is a type of garlic that has only one big clove per bulb. This garlic is fragrant and spicy, and goes well with seafood.
Hòn Đỏ is a hidden gem of Ninh Thuận that offers a different and exciting beach experience. It’s a place where you can connect with nature, have fun, and relax. If you are looking for a new destination to explore, you should definitely give Hòn Đỏ a try!

Exploring Vinh Hy Bay with my friends

#vinhhybay
Vinh Hy Bay, located in Ninh Thuan province, is one of Vietnam's most beautiful and unspoiled coastal destinations. In this adventure with my friends, I have experienced the following tour services:
- Boat Tour: Upon arrival, we immediately booked a boat tour to explore the bay. The boat ride offered panoramic views of the emerald waters and the lush green mountains that surround the bay. The price is 1.200.000 VND for whole boat option with maximum of 10 people (my group has 9 people).
- Snorkeling Adventure (included in the boat tour): One of the highlights was snorkeling in the clear waters. We marveled at the colorful coral reefs and the diverse marine life, feeling like we were in an underwater paradise.
Avoid the May Day crowds: Are there any lesser-known countries with a one-week visa process?
With only half a month left until May Day, who wants to travel abroad during the holiday? 🙋
Here are three lesser-known yet fun overseas destinations that either don't require a visa or have a quick visa process, making it easy to travel spontaneously. 🛫

Most peaceful gateway 💞
Our stay at Amanoi in Vietnam was absolutely outstanding. Spanning four nights, we chose Villa Number 18, which offered us an unparalleled 360-degree view from one of the resort's highest vantage points. While there are accommodations closer to the ocean, our villa’s panoramic view encompassed both the sea and the mountains, not to mention a charming vista of the resort's Vietnamese-style homes. Given our proximity to the Caribbean back in the Southeastern United States, an ocean view is something we can easily come by, making the unique scenery at Amanoi all the more special to us.
The management team at Amanoi is exceptional, setting a high standard for hospitality in Southeast Asia. The resort's sprawling layout meant we mostly navigated the area via buggy, which was always promptly available upon request. Both the food and service were impeccable throughout our stay.
The highlight for us was undoubtedly our villa. Coming from a hectic schedule in Thailand, the tranquility and privacy of our accommodation were exactly what we needed. We often opted to dine in our villa, enjoying the serenity alongside our private pool. A villa with a pool is definitely a must-have for the ultimate relaxing experience. While we did explore the beach and the resort's two large public pools—one nestled in the mountains near the clubhouse and the other perched above the beach—our villa's seclusion remained our favorite retreat.
The excursions offered by Amanoi were another standout aspect of our visit. We embraced the local landscape through hikes and a memorable bicycle trip into the nearby fishing village. The combination of massages, sauna, and cold plunge was a rejuvenating way to cool down from the day's heat. To make the most of the climate, we recommend booking activities in the early morning or late afternoon, reserving midday for leisure by the private pool.
Our experience at Amanoi has made us understand the allure of becoming 'Aman junkies'. We were thoroughly converted by the end of our stay and are eagerly looking forward to our next visit.
