The back looks like a factory. While walking, I saw tea trees planted around the area (too bad I didn't take a picture). The cafe here is considered a #secret cafe for me. If I didn't walk there, I wouldn't have found it. It is not far from Matcha Museum Saijoen WAKUWAKU. The first floor is a shop selling matcha products and others. The second floor is AOI Cafe, where most of the menus are made from matcha. A warm Japanese atmosphere, with few lines, we were able to sit down and order some to try. I tried their signature desserts - cute shaped donuts decorated with delicate flowers and lucky daruma, which made people want to take pictures. Every bite is sweet and delicious, and makes you feel the care that goes into making it. I also witnessed the production process and saw the chef baking with great concentration, while the aroma beside was mouth-watering. The whole environment is comfortable and elegant, very suitable for family and friends gatherings. The best time for delicious clams is around March to early April. Since it was after Golden Week, I expected fewer clams. This day had a significant spring tide. During low tide of the spring tide, the "Tombolo Tidal Flats" appear, allowing you to walk from Higashi Hazu Coast to Maejima Island. The fee was 1,200 yen per person for one plastic bag. We walked to Maejima Island and searched for clams around the island. However, we barely found any, filling only about half of the bag. After about three hours of digging, we returned to the entrance and noticed someone poking the water surface with a spear. Curious, I asked what they were catching—it was hamaguri clams. I immediately started searching in that area and found hamaguri clams! Some were quite large, and I regretted not focusing on hamaguri earlier instead of clams. Next year, I plan to buy a spear and aim for hamaguri clams instead.
