We visited many stunning waterfalls in Iceland and other countries, and Dettifoss did not disappoint. On the fourth day of my arrival in Iceland, the waterfall I was most looking forward to was "Dettifoss". This waterfall has two viewing points, east and west, and I chose the east one because it was the scene from the movie "Prometheus" shooting location. 🚙It takes about 3 hours from the hotel to Dettifoss🚙 To go to the waterfall, you must pass Highway 864 or 862. The road is full of gravel and the road is not easy. Moreover, this road is not often open. In winter, it is covered with thick snow, so it is closed. It takes about 20 minutes to walk from the parking lot to Detti Waterfall. Most of it is uneven gravel roads. It rains and winds blow while walking, and the weather suddenly becomes cold🥶 But when we finally saw this majestic waterfall, all the effort became worth it! This waterfall is located in the glacier valley area, and the water is huge. Standing next to the waterfall, you can feel the power of nature.
