While looking for places to see spring flowers in Perth, we came across the S&R Blossom Festival and decided to visit. We arrived around 1pm. The rows of blossom trees were beautiful and there were plenty of spots for photos, but the afternoon was very hot and the festival was crowded. There was also an animal area and other activities, although we didn’t explore much of them. We mainly walked around the orchard and took photos. One thing we noticed was quite a lot of animal droppings on the ground, so we had to watch our steps while walking around. We stayed for about 40 minutes before leaving. The blossoms photographed really well, but our actual visit was quite short. It was only a short four-day stay, but from the moment I arrived, I was totally captivated by the gorgeous scenery and the friendly locals.~ While hanging out at the beach, an older local gentleman struck up a conversation with me. He asked if I liked it there and mentioned that a friend of his had originally planned to head back to Hong Kong after graduating, but ended up staying in Perth for good. He even tried to convince me to do the same! I told him I’ll definitely be back because the landscapes and the people here are so healing. During my time in Perth, I stayed in 4- to 5-star hotels right in the CBD. They were super convenient, safe, spotless, and had amazing service—absolutely no disappointing stays at all! You can't do Perth without a stop at King's Park! I set aside half a day to soak in the massive lawns and gorgeous city skyline. I also hopped on a hop-on-hop-off bus tour to learn about the history and stories of different neighborhoods, hitting up Chinatown and the Northbridge area to check out the nightlife, local prices, and food scene. And of course, I couldn't miss out on traditional Chinese dim sum! They even had the classic dim sum carts. The aunties were so sweet recommending their favorite dishes, and the owner was incredibly chatty. It felt so welcoming and full of heart. 🍷 Day Trip to the Wineries I specifically signed up for a wine-tasting tour and got to sample cheeses and fantastic wines from various estates. I couldn’t stop chatting with the others in my tour group—we had so many hilarious conversations about culture shock! · Most of the nearby wineries are clustered in the Swan Valley, which is just a 25-minute drive from the city center. 📸 Every Snap Looks Like a Postcard Western Australia is seriously stunning at every turn. My recent trip to Perth Zoo was such a joyful and rewarding experience! 😍 Located in South Perth, the zoo boasts a beautiful environment and is incredibly well-maintained. The enclosures are designed to be natural and spacious, ensuring the animals live in comfort. 🌿✨ The biggest surprise was seeing a pure white kangaroo! Its fur was a radiant, snowy white as it stood by the feeding station. It had such a unique presence—I took a ton of photos and didn't want to leave. 🦘🤍✨ The Little Penguin area was adorable. Watching two of them waddle around the rocks with their clumsy yet cute movements was a highlight. 🐧💕 The Dingoes were lazily lounging on large rocks, soaking up the sun. We managed to squeeze in without a reservation just before 6:00 PM! Right after we sat down, the place filled up in the blink of an eye 💦. It seems like a very popular spot, so I’d definitely recommend booking in advance if you want to be sure to get a table ◎. When we first walked in, the atmosphere felt a bit sophisticated, so I was worried if it would be okay for kids. But there was no need to worry at all—they even brought out drawing toys for my son, making it truly kid-friendly ♡. The staff were so kind, chatting with my son and even offering to take a family photo for us at the end 📸. Thanks to them, we had a very comfortable and relaxing time, even with a child in tow ♪. 🍖 Here’s what we ordered! 🥩 Beef Ribs Half Rack $58 🥩 O’Connor New Yorker 350g $85 🥔 Mash $10 Total: $153 (approx. 18,000 JPY) *JPY conversion is based on the approximate rate at the time of the trip. The first thing that surprised me was the Beef Ribs! I was wondering how big a "Half Rack" would be, and it was absolutely huge!! 😳 I couldn't believe this was only a "half"—it was so generous and meaty. The sauce was on the sweet side and absolutely delicious ♡. My son loved it too, grabbing it with both hands and taking a big bite!! 🤣 He went wild for it 🍖. The side salad was also quite a generous portion! I was happy to have a good serving of greens alongside the meat ◎. The O’Connor New Yorker was even more tender than I expected. There's just something about a thick, hearty steak that makes you feel so happy lol. I saw a lot of people ordering skewers, and they looked amazing! I wish I had done a bit more research. We were pretty full, so if we hadn't ordered the mashed potatoes, we probably could have fit in a skewer. Once my son gets a bit older and can finish a full meal on his own, I’ll be able to order so much more! 🤣 I found this place on Google Maps right before we went, but it turned out to be a great choice ◎. The Aspire Lounge at Perth Airport completely exceeded my expectations. Honestly, it was so good that it easily beats many of the airline-operated lounges I’ve visited. The lounge had a really comfortable and relaxing atmosphere, making it a great escape from the busy airport terminal. The food and drinks selection was impressive, with plenty of choices to enjoy before a flight, and everything was presented nicely. What surprised me most was the overall quality of the experience. From the comfortable seating to the facilities and the selection of refreshments, it felt much more premium than I expected from a Priority Pass lounge. The service was also friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. I’ve visited quite a few airline lounges, and I genuinely think the Aspire Lounge holds its own against many of them. In some cases, I’d actually choose this lounge over an airline-operated one. If you have Priority Pass access and are flying out of Perth, I highly recommend checking it out. It’s definitely one of the better airport lounges I’ve experienced and a fantastic way to start a journey.

Here is a review of TOAST CAFE, which we visited on this trip☕️✨ We decided to go here the day before without much research, but it turned out to be a really cozy spot frequented by locals. I would absolutely love to go back! It's about a 5-minute walk from the "Royal St Victoria Gardens" bus stop on the Yellow CAT route. Opening its doors at 6:30 AM, this cafe lets you enjoy your meal overlooking the inlet flowing from the Swan River. They have an extensive menu, offering everything from classic breakfast items to sweet treats, making it hard to choose just one. On a Sunday in August, I arrived at Perth Airport around 5:30 AM on SQ225 from Singapore! Bag claim went more smoothly than I expected, but immigration was quite strict. I had read many blogs beforehand and learned that "Australia has strict rules about bringing in food!", so I prepared very carefully this time. I didn't put any drinks or food in my suitcase; instead, I packed 2L bottles of water, instant noodles, and snacks for the kids in a small cardboard box. This was a great decision! While others around me were opening their suitcases and declaring food items, we were only checked the cardboard box and everything was OK! Perhaps because it was a family trip, they didn't seem too suspicious? However, if you're bringing in food, I highly recommend checking the rules beforehand and declaring everything honestly. It was quite cold in Perth in August, partly because it was early in the morning! It was so cold that I could see my breath in the air, so I changed into long sleeves at the airport. I spent the time before the train started running exploring the airport and organizing my luggage. Afterward, I took the train to Perth Station, and from there I took the CAT bus to the hotel. Although it was before check-in time, the hotel kindly held my luggage, so I was able to start sightseeing unencumbered! I took the train from Perth Station to Fremantle Station first. 🚃 Public transport in Perth is free on Sundays. 💰 · Note: Only contactless payment with IC cards or credit cards is accepted. ⚠️ My destinations were: 🛍️ Fremantle Market 🛍️ E Shed Markets · Both are only open on weekends, so please check the days of the week before visiting. Upon arriving in Fremantle, I had a late breakfast. I didn't have a specific place in mind, so I just went to a cafe that caught my eye and thought, "This looks nice!" ☕️ Drinking an authentic flat white while gazing at the morning view of Fremantle was amazing! ♡ With my stomach full, I strolled around the market. I looked at various goods, fruits, and food. I love walking around markets even if I don't have anything specific to buy, so I always visit markets and supermarkets when I travel. That's when my son found... Peppa Pig muffins 🐷🧁 ($4 = approximately 450 yen) Of course, we bought them! 😂 After enjoying Fremantle Market, we strolled towards the station. From there, we walked another 5 minutes to E Shed Markets! Honestly, even after researching beforehand, there was very little information available, and I was wondering, "Is it really okay to go here? 😂" But it turned out to be a great decision! ! E Shed Markets has antiques, miscellaneous goods, and souvenirs typical of Australia. This is highly recommended for anyone looking to buy a souvenir that truly captures the essence of Australia, but at a relatively low price! I bought some souvenirs here to give to my son's kindergarten friends 🎁 A set of 6 pencils for $2!! So cheap!!! 😍 The pencils had Australian designs like kangaroos and koalas, making them perfect for handing out as gifts ♡ If you buy 3 sets (18 pencils total), it's $5, so I bought 3 sets ✏ Afterward, I visited several souvenir shops during my stay, but E Shed Markets was the only place selling these pencils! I wish I had bought 3 more sets…! And since we were planning to visit Rottnest Island during this trip, I also bought a quokka plush toy beforehand ♡ Even though they're the same product, each one has a slightly different face, so I let my son choose his favorite. The quokka was $8.50!! So cheap!! 😳 At another souvenir shop we stopped at along the way, a similar quokka plush toy was selling for $19. They had not only plush toys, but also magnets, hats, T-shirts, and other miscellaneous goods, and from what I saw, everything seemed to be 30% to 50% cheaper than other souvenir shops 💸 By the way, the magnets were about $4, which was more than half the price of what you'd find in the market! Of course, prices vary depending on the item, but if you're looking for cheap souvenirs, it's definitely worth checking out! Unlike many zoos I've visited, the animals here live in beautifully landscaped habitats that feel close to nature rather than enclosed exhibits. The highlight, of course, was finally seeing Australia's iconic wildlife in person. Watching a sleepy koala resting high in the eucalyptus trees was exactly the Australian moment I had imagined. The kangaroos were even better—they were incredibly relaxed, hopping around their large open enclosure while visitors quietly admired them from nearby walkways. One unexpected favourite was the wombat. They're much bigger than I expected and somehow even cuter in real life. I also loved seeing the colourful birds, playful meerkats, giraffes, lions and tigers, making this zoo much more diverse than I anticipated. What impressed me most wasn't just the animals—it was the atmosphere. The entire zoo is filled with lush gardens, shady trees and winding walking paths, making it enjoyable even on warm days. It felt more like strolling through a botanical garden than rushing between animal exhibits.
