📍 Ah Chew Desserts (Singapore)
I stopped by this dessert shop because it was hot outside while wandering around Chinatown. 🍨 The exterior exudes a traditional feel, and the interior has a Chinese-inspired decor, giving it a truly local feel. There were far more locals than tourists, and the turnover was fast, so even with a line, I was able to get in quickly. 👏
🍧 I ordered the Sago with Mango & Pomelo and the Bean Curd with Ginkgo Nuts. The Mango Sago had a strong, sweet mango flavor, and the chewy texture of the pomelo (fruit similar to grapefruit) and sago pearls was fun. 🥭 It's refreshing yet not overpoweringly sweet, perfect for hot weather. I ordered the warm version of the tofu pudding, and it was soft and light, making it a perfect ending to a meal. 🫶
💬 The restaurant has a clean atmosphere, and the staff takes orders quickly, making the overall experience feel well-organized. However, it can get a bit noisy when there are a lot of people, and the seating is a bit cramped, making it difficult to enjoy a leisurely meal. Still, the flavor is so authentic that I'll definitely be back!
⭐️ Overall Rating: 4.6/5
If you want to truly experience traditional Singaporean desserts, this is a must-try! The mango sago is especially a must-try 💛
