It's open until late, so
we went to see Cheonmachong after dinner
We took pictures at Daereungwon on the way
They said Daereungwon admission fee will be eliminated soon
We paid the admission fee and went in
Since it's right next to Hwangridan-gil
It would be nice to go to Daereungwon after seeing Hwangridan-gil. It's an amazing place because it's well preserved and restored.

🇰🇷[Daereungwon] Gyeongju
🏖️Overview:
Daereungwon🪦, one of the most representative ruins in Gyeongju, is a historical park⛲️ with 23 ancient tombs of various sizes gathered on a vast site of about 125,400 pyong. The most famous ancient tomb in Daereungwon is Cheonmachong. The name Cheonmachong comes from the horse🐎 mudguard with a depiction of a heavenly horse that was excavated from this ancient tomb. Other items excavated include a gold crown👑 and a waist belt, and the interiors of these items are open to the public.
💞Reasons why we recommend it:
The ancient tombs that pop up one after another while traveling from Gyeongju Bus Terminal🚌 to Gyeongju Station🚃 are a spectacular sight🫢. I think it's rare to see so many ancient tombs concentrated in one place. Among them, the exhibits at Cheonmachong are eye-catching👀. It has become a place where you can think💭 about the eternal history.

A historic site you must visit when traveling to Gyeongju!

If you come to Hwangnam-dong, it would be a shame to just see Hwangridan-gil. Daereungwon, a huge Silla-era tomb located on a vast land of over 120,000 pyeong, is a must-see for a proper trip to Gyeongju. The most famous tomb among them is Cheonmachong! It is an important tomb that is designated as a national treasure and contains many precious relics, so it is often mentioned in history textbooks. Admission to Daereungwon is free, and you can purchase a separate ticket to Cheonmachong. The relics, including a gold crown, a gold belt, and a Cheonmachong saddle with a horse painting, are spread out before your eyes, so it is worth going in and seeing. When I visited last year, there was an event where if you uploaded to Instagram, you would receive a magnet and key ring goods with a motif of the Gyeongju historic site. AR experiences and experiences of wearing Silla costumes are also in progress, and the walking path is well-decorated for walking, so it is fun for everyone, regardless of age or gender. Highly recommended as a must-see course for a Gyeongju trip!!

I visited Cheonmachong, one of the only tombs open to the public in Daereungwon, Gyeongju. It is a tomb from the Silla period of the Three Kingdoms and has been designated as a World Cultural Heritage. 🤗 It is said that it is called Cheonmachong because a horsehair rhinoceros with a picture of Cheonmachong on its birch bark was discovered.
