A Coastal Oasis with Year-Round Floral Scents
Cheollipo Arboretum, initiated by Dr. Min Byung-gal, is Korea's first private arboretum and boasts breathtaking beauty recognized globally. It was the first in Asia to be selected as one of the 'World's Beautiful Arboretums' by the International Dendrology Society, which is truly remarkable.
The expansive forest, flower paths, and themed gardens showcase diverse seasonal changes. Particularly, the magnolia and rhododendron gardens, reed garden, rock garden, and pond trails are well-maintained, making them perfect for leisurely walks.
Admission fees are 6,000 KRW for adults, 5,000 KRW for teenagers, and 4,000 KRW for children. The arboretum operates from 9 AM to 5 PM (4 PM during winter) and is open year-round, allowing visitors to plan their trips freely.
During my visit in spring, magnolia flowers were in full bloom. Walking along the trails, the blend of floral scents and scenic views provided a healing experience for both the eyes and the soul. It’s an ideal spot for a relaxing stroll with family or friends, and the picturesque landscapes make it perfect for photography as well.
Visitor facilities are well-equipped, and the spacious free parking lot makes it convenient to visit by car.
If you’re looking to take a breather in nature, Cheollipo Arboretum, with its stunning display of flowers and trees, is sure to never disappoint.
