Walking Tour of the Central Plateau of Spain ~ Albacete (Region)
A whirlwind hike through Spain's Central Plateau ~ Albacete (Region)
This Catholic church, a blend of Gothic, Mudéjar, and Renaissance styles, was built in the 14th century and renovated over the centuries. The most striking feature of the complex is its rectangular plan, consisting of three naves separated by pointed arches supported by columns. It features a doorway with a semicircular arch adorned with triglyphs and a cornice surmounted by a wall supporting a pyramid with a ball and a shield of the Order of Santo Domingo. Its dome, crowned by the lantern of the Rosario Church, stands out. Inside, the Mudéjar coffered ceiling and the Gothic-Mudéjar-style cloister, composed of two main structures with pointed arches and segmented sections, are particularly striking.
