The Deyang Confucian Temple was built in the Southern Song Dynasty. It was relocated to the present site in the south of the city during the Hongwu period of the Ming Dynasty. It has been rebuilt and supplemented many times. It faces south and is second only to the Confucian Temple in Qufu, Shandong, ranking second in the country and first in Sichuan. It is a national key cultural relic protection unit. There are statues of Confucius and various famous officials, village officials, loyalty and filial piety, festival filial piety and other shrines in the temple, as well as buildings such as Minglun Hall and Zhaishu. The Confucian Temple has red walls and yellow tiles, with careful layout and fine carvings. There is a floating pool outside the Lingxing Gate, a three-arch bridge spanning the ground, and a Gengguan Pavilion and a provincial animal shelter. In the West Hall, there is an exhibition hall of Confucius's life and deeds, which is open to the public all year round. There is a Confucian Temple Museum.
