Dinso Resort & Villas Ko Chang Review
Today, I’m reviewing Dinso Resort & Villas Ko Chang, part of the IHG group. This resort has recently opened, and its concept revolves around the idea of being stranded on an island, reminiscent of Tom Hanks in the movie Castaway. During this visit, I had the chance to stay in two different room types:
- Suite Sea View: This room is incredibly spacious, making it perfect for families with children. In addition to a king-size bed, there’s a separate sleeping area for kids that can accommodate two more people. This room type comes with a pantry equipped with plates, bowls, cutlery, and a dining table. It also includes both capsule coffee and drip coffee options. The room we stayed in offered a lovely sea view from a great angle.
- Premium Garden View Pool Access: Personally, I preferred this room type. It’s just the right size for two people, and you can step directly into the pool from the room. However, this room has fewer amenities compared to the Suite and doesn’t include capsule coffee. From this room, you can enjoy views of both the sea and the central pool.
- Breakfast: The breakfast selection is very diverse, featuring Thai, Western, Chinese, and Indian dishes, along with fresh fruit juices. For vegans, there are plenty of options, with a good variety of meat-free dishes available.
- Castaway Restaurant: This is where we had our meals for lunch and dinner. The prices are quite reasonable compared to many other hotels. The menu includes Thai, Western, and Indian cuisine. Personally, I loved the coconut ice cream here and ordered it almost every time I dined. The staff includes both Thai and international employees. However, one minor annoyance was that it sometimes took a lot of effort to get the staff’s attention, requiring exaggerated gestures to be noticed.
- Activities: One of the enjoyable activities offered by the hotel is painting pottery. Each guest gets one piece to paint, and additional pieces can be purchased for just 50฿ each. It’s a relaxing activity. At 6:00 PM, there’s a conch shell blowing show, followed by marshmallow roasting, which guests can participate in. Water activities like paddleboarding, kayaking, and canoeing are available but come with additional charges. There are also scooters for use in the pool, which can be rented.
Overall, I was impressed and will definitely return. The staff provided good service, though I was slightly disappointed that the club lounge wasn’t completed yet, and some areas were still under construction. However, these issues didn’t significantly affect the experience—just a minor regret about not being able to use the club lounge benefits. 😅
