The restaurant is a simple, revolving Chinese table setting. The atmosphere isn’t luxurious but it gives off a truly local feel. Most importantly, the taste of the food is what makes this restaurant “really awesome.” We started with Stir-fried Bitter Melon Shoots (80 baht). This dish was the star of the show. The vegetables were very fresh, crispy, naturally sweet, and not bitter at all. Next, we had Crispy Fried Shiitake Mushrooms in Soy Sauce (80 baht). They came in chunks, crispy and chewy, similar to crispy mushroom rinds. They were very enjoyable to eat as a snack. Dipping them in lime juice cuts the richness even more. Although a bit salty, overall, it was good. The Black Chicken Braised in Chinese Herbs (250 baht) had a clear but well-balanced broth with a strong aroma of herbs like wolfberries and various Chinese roots.
