A thousand-year-old temple in the light and shadow.
Walking into the ancient temple, listening to the morning bell and the evening drum, feeling the tranquility of being detached from the world, is undoubtedly a baptism of the soul.
Donglin Temple, located at the southern foot of the beautiful Lushan Mountain, has been the birthplace of the Pure Land Sect of Buddhism since ancient times. It has a profound historical heritage and rich cultural heritage. As soon as you enter the temple gate, you will be shocked by the solemn and simple atmosphere. The ancient trees are towering, the pines and cypresses are green, as if every leaf is telling a thousand-year-old story. On both sides of the temple gate, the stone lions are majestic, guarding this pure land, making people involuntarily awe-inspiring.
Stepping into the temple, the first thing that catches your eye is the well-arranged architectural complex. The Great Hall of the Great Heroes, the Hall of Heavenly Kings, the Hall of the Three Saints, etc., each hall is magnificent and magnificent. Especially the Great Hall of the Great Heroes, which enshrines the statue of Sakyamuni Buddha, the Buddha statue is solemn and kind, as if it can see all the troubles in the world, giving people endless comfort and strength. Here, I worshiped with my hands together, and my heart was full of awe and longing for the Dharma.
Walking in every corner of Donglin Temple, you can feel that unique Zen. Every scene in the temple seems to be given life, they quietly tell the vicissitudes and glory of the ancient temple. Especially the ancient bronze bell, whenever the morning bell and the evening drum sound, the deep and distant bell sound seems to penetrate the sky and reach the deepest part of the human heart, making people forget the troubles of the world and purify the soul.
In Donglin Temple, I also had the honor to participate in a Zen meditation activity. Under the guidance of the Zen master, we sat cross-legged, closed our eyes and concentrated, focused on breathing, and felt the peace and tranquility in our hearts. At that moment, I seemed to be isolated from the whole world, leaving only myself and the inner dialogue. Although this experience is short, it makes me deeply appreciate the charm and power of Zen meditation, and makes me cherish the present more, learn to let go of obsession, and embrace every moment of life.
In addition, the vegetarian food in Donglin Temple is also a highlight. The vegetarian food here is not only delicious, but also balanced in nutrition, allowing people to taste delicious food while also feeling the compassion and wisdom of the Dharma. Every dish seems to be a work of art, allowing people to enjoy delicious food while also feeling the joy and satisfaction of the soul.
