Last time I went to Notting Hill, I tried a Greek restaurant called MAZI, and to my surprise, it was really good. 🍞 Bread with olive oil — always a fail-proof choice! 🥄 Smoked Aubergine The aubergine slices were crispy and paired with tahini and honey. As soon as you step into Shan Shui Social, you’re immediately immersed in the old Shanghai atmosphere — the music and décor are full of charm, I absolutely loved it. The scallion pancakes were deliciously crispy. They come in a set of three, perfect for sharing with friends during a casual get-together — not too heavy either! The spicy fried chicken was incredibly crispy, and the aroma of the chilies was just amazing. The wonton soup had an especially rich broth, and the wontons themselves were generously filled — one bowl was super satisfying! The roast duck was a massive portion — really hearty. The skin was crispy, and the sauce was rich and flavorful. Half a duck is ideal for about four people to share! The salted egg yolk prawns were packed with huge, juicy prawns, all coated in a rich salted egg yolk sauce — absolutely delicious! The drink menu was also a lovely surprise. I had the cucumber mocktail (the last one listed under the mocktails) and it was super refreshing. New Malden, London, UK, is a small Korean town in London with many Korean restaurants and Koreans. I visited New Malden to eat Korean food during my recent trip to London. There are many Korean restaurants in New Malden, but I ate at Genghis Khan, which a Korean friend who lives in London took me to as a good Chinese restaurant. We ordered tangsuyuk, jajangmyeon, and gunmandu, and paid a total of 33 pounds. The staff was also Korean, so it was nice that I could order in Korean comfortably. The tangsuyuk was served with sauce, but it was crispy all the way through, which was really good. Also, the Jajangmyeon was as delicious as the Chinese restaurant in our neighborhood in Korea. The dumplings were crispy on the outside and moist on the inside, so I couldn't stop reaching for them! Since it is such a popular London cream tea restaurant, there are many cases where there are no seats if you go without a reservation. I went right when it opened at 11 o'clock, but there were no seats, so I sat outside. Luckily, a reservation customer didn't show up, so I was able to enjoy cream tea inside the cafe. Cream tea is a simplified version of afternoon tea, and it is a British culture of eating scones and tea together. You cut a scone in half, spread clotted cream on it, and then spread strawberry jam on top. The scone was warm, soft, and rich, so it was really delicious. In particular, this tea room has such a great atmosphere and the staff are so lovely that I felt good all day after visiting. There are so many kinds of tea, but I chose Orange Blossom Oolong. It is a rich oolong tea with a subtle citrus scent, so I refilled it with hot water and drank it. If you want to have delicious cream tea in a nice atmosphere in London, England, I highly recommend Candella Tea Room 💓
