Here's a guide to Egong Bay Beach:
Preparation
- ID: Bring a valid ID, such as your ID card.
- Clothing: Pack swimwear, slippers, sunglasses, a sun hat, and sun-protective clothing. If you plan to camp, bring warm clothes.
- Other items: Bring plenty of drinking water, food, a portable charger, first-aid supplies, mosquito repellent, and trash bags. If you plan to snorkel or fish, bring the necessary equipment.
Transportation
- By car: Navigate to "Egong Bay Parking Lot". It takes about 1.5-2 hours to drive from downtown Shenzhen. Be aware of the winding mountain roads, which are steep and narrow. New drivers should exercise caution.
- Public transportation: Take bus E11 to Nan'ao Bus Terminal, then transfer to bus M232 and get off at Xichong Overseas Chinese School. Walk to the beach from there. Alternatively, take bus E11 to Moon Bay in Nan'ao, transfer to bus M321 to Yangchou Bay in Nan'ao, and then walk about 6 km to the beach.
Activities
- Water activities: Swim in the shallow water, try snorkeling to see marine life, or enjoy fishing from the shore or rocks.
- Beach leisure: Sunbathe, play in the sand, play beach volleyball, or have a picnic under the coconut trees.
- Sightseeing: Admire the silvery waterfall cascading from the mountain into the sea, stroll along the beach to enjoy the surrounding mountain and sea views, and watch the spectacular waves crashing against the shore during high tide.
Important Notes
- Egong Bay Beach is generally open from 08:00-18:00. If you are driving there on weekends or public holidays between May 1st and October 31st, you need to make a reservation on the Shenzhen Traffic Police's official WeChat account.
- Do not swim in areas with strong waves or deep water. Pay attention to your safety.
- Take sun protection and mosquito repellent measures. Protect the environment and take your trash with you.
