Sichuan Emei Fuhu Temple | A quiet temple hidden at the foot of the mountain.
🐯 Fuhu Temple, also known as Fuhu Zen Temple, Shenlong Hall, and Huxi Jing She, is located at the foot of Emei Mountain in Sichuan, 1 km from Baoguo Temple, at the confluence of Yoga River and Huxi River, at an altitude of 630 meters, and is the largest Bhikkhuni Temple in Emei Mountain.
🌟 The entrance of Fuhu Temple has a large archway, followed by a forest, which is quite large. There are many nanmu trees and ancient cypresses here, and the trees are all over a hundred years old. The ancient ferns and mosses are like carpets covering the ground, and the Buddha's air is permeating the mountains and forests around the temple. There is a "Bujinlin" cursive archway next to the gate of Fuhu Temple. The entire Fuhu Temple is hidden in Bujinlin, so it is called "Mysterious Forest Hidden Fuhu". What's amazing is that there are no fallen leaves on the roof of the temple all year round. Even Kangxi thought it was strange, so he wrote the words "Ligou Garden".
🌟 There are three bridges (Tiger Bath, Tiger Creek, Tiger Roar) outside the temple, crossing the stream, the stream is gurgling under the bridge, and there are some seats next to the bridge. The surrounding green mountains and beautiful waters are surrounded, and the four seasons air flows back and forth, which is completely different from the scenery on Emei Mountain. This place is more suitable for meditation.
🌟 Fuhu Temple sounds very powerful, but it is actually a Bhikkhuni nunnery. This is the first time I have visited a nunnery. The ancient temple was called this name in the Tang Dynasty, and it was rebuilt in the Qing Dynasty. It was also one of the largest temples in Emei Mountain. There are the largest copper tower in China, "Huayan Tower", and the largest "Luohan Hall" in the whole mountain. There are not many tourists in the entire temple, it is very quiet, not commercialized at all, and occasionally you can see Bhikkhuni passing by, and they will greet you warmly.
🚗 In terms of transportation, you can take the No. 5 bus to Fuhu Temple. Fuhu Temple is adjacent to Emei Mountain. Many tourists choose to walk from the foot of the mountain. Along the way, you can enjoy the natural landscape and feel the leisure of the morning exercise crowd.
💰 The ticket price is a few yuan, open all year round, from 8:00 to 16:00 every day. It is recommended to go in the morning to avoid the peak of the crowd and experience the tranquility and solemnity of the temple.
