A day trip to Suwon where history and nature come together
I'll introduce you to Suwon, a great place to travel near Seoul.
Suwon is a great place to travel because it combines history and nature, centered around Suwon Hwaseong, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Also, it is one of the best places to travel for backpackers because public transportation is well-developed.

Wolhwawon, a traditional Chinese park located in Suwon Hyowon Park,
was created on April 17, 2006 as a friendly cooperation project between Gyeonggi-do and Guangdong Province, China.

Suwon Hwaseong Haenggung is a must-see when traveling to Suwon.
Suwon Hwaseong Haenggung is a temporary palace built by King Jeongjo of the Joseon Dynasty to stay in when he visited Suwon to pay his respects to his father, Crown Prince Sado.
It was built by King Jeongjo along with Suwon Hwaseong Fortress, and is famous for being the largest and most beautiful of the Joseon Dynasty palaces.
It is a famous place that has been registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site along with Suwon Hwaseong Fortress.
📍Seokjangdae
Address: Namchang-dong, Paldal-gu, Suwon-si, Gyeonggi-do
Seokjangdae is located at the top of Paldalsan Mountain, about 146 meters above sea level,
and is an observation spot where you can see the beautiful scenery of Suwon at a glance. From Hwaseomun, you can see the Seojangdae observation spot by walking up the fortress wall path for about 20 minutes.
The slope is higher than you think, so it may be a little difficult to walk.
We recommend that those who go up here wear comfortable shoes.
📍Banghwasuryujeong & Yongyeon
Address: 44-6, Suwoncheon-ro 392beon-gil, Paldal-gu, Suwon-si, Gyeonggi-do
Banghwasuryujeong is a hot picnic spot in Suwon these days.
Banghwasuryujeong is a two-story pavilion built as the northeast corner of Suwon Hwaseong during the reign of King Jeongjo.
The view of Yongyeon and other scenery from here is so good that it is said to have served as a pavilion not only for military facilities but also for viewing the scenery.
The view of Banghwasuryujeong from the pond Yongyeon below is pretty, and it is also a good place for a picnic because there is a large lawn.
It is located next to Banghwasuryujeong and Hwahongmun, the north gate of Suwon Hwaseong, so visit them together.
