Traveling in Switzerland, taking a boat tour on Lake Lucerne (also known as Lake Luzern) on a rainy day is an unforgettable experience. Lake Lucerne is located in central Switzerland. It is the fourth largest lake in Switzerland and the largest lake entirely within Swiss territory. Situated among the steep limestone mountains of the northern Central Alps, it is also known as the "Lake of the Four Forest Cantons" because it lies between the cantons of Uri, Schwyz, Unterwalden, and Lucerne. The lake is a tectonic-glacial lake, narrow and long, about 40 kilometers in length, with a maximum width of only 3.2 kilometers, covering an area of 114 square kilometers. The lake's surface is at an altitude of 437 meters, with its deepest point reaching 214 meters.
