An ancient temple of the Shingon sect built on the slopes of Mount Kaohsiung. It is said that Wake Seimaro, who made a contribution to the construction of Heiankyo, was built in 781. From 809 to 14 years, Kukai (Kobo Daishi) entered the temple. "Daishi-do", which restored and rebuilt Kukai's housing, is designated as an important cultural property. "Daishi-do" is open to the public in early November every year, and you can see the plate-carved Kobo Daishi statue (important cultural property) that is enshrined.
The main image of Yakushi Nyorai is designated as a national treasure, and it is made using a method called "bare wood finish" with only red on the lips and ink on the eyebrows and eyes. In addition, it owns many temple treasures from the early Heian period to the early Kamakura period. It is also famous for the national treasure Brahma bell, which is considered one of the "Japan's three bells".
