This time, I made a reservation at #HotelTopSten, which is a little bit away from downtown Gangneung. Originally, I was planning to enjoy a vacation at St. John's, which is considered the best hotel in Gangneung, but the price of the St. John's Ocean View room was about twice that of the HotelTopSten Partial Ocean View room. I thought it would be more efficient to save a little on accommodation and increase my travel expenses, so I did that, but in the end, I was very satisfied. This #Gangneung trip was a little short, and I didn't want to worry too much about blog posts, so unfortunately, there aren't many pictures, but I'll try to share my own experiences, and make this post meaningful :D HotelTopSten is about 30-40 minutes away from downtown Gangneung by car. There is a shuttle bus, but if you go by car or rental car, you will be able to have a more meaningful trip. I read a lot of reviews saying that there are not many places to play or eat around the hotel, so I arrived late after spending the whole day in Gangneung city and the ocean. There were no street lights and the road was under construction, so driving at night was a bit scary. On the other hand, I was able to drive along the coastal road in the morning, which felt very beautiful and nice. In front of the restaurant located on the lobby floor of Topsten Hotel, they sell pretty good wines, but the prices were a bit high for me. They also sell wine in the basement convenience store, but if you are considering daily wine, I recommend the convenience store. The room I booked this time was a deluxe queen, since it is located at the corner of the 14th floor building, it is classified as a partial ocean view. The room doesn't look big in the picture, but it was actually quite spacious and the TV was very big. Haha The bedding on the queen-size bed was in excellent condition. However, there is no place to plug in the USB or power cord next to the bed, so it is inconvenient to charge your phone. If it was completed in 2017, the power supply part would have been considered and installed... The air conditioning and heating system seem to be old-fashioned, so this part is also a bit disappointing. There was no inconvenience in using it, but when considering long-term operation, there were many cases where the inside smelled bad. There was a table and chair inside the spacious room, so it was good to enjoy a simple accompaniment in the room. Overall, the hotel's atmosphere The inside of the room was old, but there were no frills, but it felt cozy. The parking lot was spacious, and the auxiliary facilities were good, so it would be a good hotel to stay for 2-3 days. #Ho-kangs One of the few hotels in Jumunjin, SL Hotel offers a proper ho-kangs starting from the premier room. The bed and the view are ocean views and average, but the bathroom was really nice. Jumunjin can be seen through the bathroom window, which makes you feel the true taste of relaxation. I enjoyed it twice, in the afternoon and in the morning. If you bring bath salts, you can really flex. This hotel also has regular rooms, but... they are only good for sleeping for a day. The premier room is a real ho-kangs. The nearby Jumunjin Port is famous for its red crabs and squid, so you can have raw fish and eat it in your room. There is a convenience store on the first floor of the hotel, and if you bring your room card key, you can get an additional 10% discount, so please take note. Come to Gangneung and enjoy an ocean view ho-kangs!

Happiness is going out to play. I drove from Seoul to Sokcho, Gangwon-do, South Korea. 1️⃣Day 1: It snowed heavily in other places, but not much in Sokcho. I went straight to Sokcho Namgyeong Cold Noodles 🍜 and ordered the recommended 들막 and 곤막, which were really delicious~😋 I was so full that I drove to the beach 5 minutes away. The waves were so big that I almost wanted to jump in 🌊 Afternoon: The view was really beautiful. The snow-covered mountains looked like a work of art. In the evening, I bought 만석닭강정 fried chicken at Sokcho Tourist Fish Market. 2️⃣Day 2: In the morning, I went to have chicken stew 🍲. The soup was full of green onions and Cheongyang chili peppers, which made it very refreshing. I drank the day before, and after eating, I felt completely sober. Afternoon: I went to a cafe near Seoraksan Mountain. The wind was really strong on the second day, and even the gas station sign was almost blown away, haha 🌬️💨. Fortunately, I wore a thick coat. 🫵Trip summary: It was a great short trip by car on the weekend 😌. Sokcho is worth visiting.

I was worried that there would be a lot of people, but there weren't as many people as I thought, so I was able to take pictures without waiting too long! (I visited around 2:40 PM on a weekday) I reenacted a famous scene from the drama Goblin with my friend here😃 When I was taking pictures, I felt like I was Ji Eun-tak, the female protagonist of Goblin😆 The ocean view was really pretty, and the weather was nice, so the pictures turned out pretty😊 A place with great pictures and great views👍👍 There are many cafes and gelato shops around here, so it would be nice to have a cup of coffee and look at the ocean:) If you come to Gangneung, I recommend coming to Jumunjin Yeongjin Beach! :)
