Kaifu Temple, located outside the north gate of Changsha City, Hunan Province, by the Xinhe River and near the Xiangjiang River, was first built in the second year of the Tiancheng period of Emperor Mingzong of the Later Tang Dynasty during the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms period (927 AD). It is one of the key open temples of Chinese Buddhism and belongs to the Yangqi sect of the Linji school of Chan Buddhism. Kaifu Temple faces south with its main axis running north to south. The Buddha halls are divided into three sections: the front is the Three Saints Hall, the middle is the Mahavira Hall, and the rear is the Vairocana Hall. The eastern wing rooms include the guest hall, dining hall, storeroom, abbot's quarters, and scripture library from front to back. The western wing rooms include the lecture hall, meditation hall, and old dormitory. The temple's architecture mainly features the style of Ming and Qing dynasty palaces. On October 10, 1983, the People's Government of Hunan Province announced Kaifu Temple as the fifth batch of provincial-level key cultural relics protection units in Hunan Province.

Although I am not a believer, I can't help but calm my mind in this atmosphere, feeling the rare tranquility and harmony. ❤ What is particularly captivating is the back garden of Kaifu Temple, where there is a pond with a few lotus flowers blooming quietly, fish swimming leisurely, surrounded by green bamboo, forming a vivid Zen painting.
