KAKO Coffee House, one of the oldest cafes in Nagoya, opened in 1972 and has been around for 50 years! Usually, there's a wait even on weekdays, but I was able to visit without waiting, perhaps because I went to a branch location. It's a place where you can enjoy Nagoya's famous morning set. If you visit between 7-11 AM, you can get the set at a cheaper price, so make sure to visit early! The citrus flavor of Ethiopian Yirgacheffe is recommended, paired with Nagoya's specialty "Ogura Toast" - thick-cut toast spread with red bean paste and cream. There are few seats in the store, with only a bar and two small tables. It emphasizes the philosophy of "slowly savoring" and has become a secret base for local hipsters and coffee lovers. KAKO's most popular dish is the adorable and luxurious 4-flavor jam cream red bean paste toast. We visited specifically for this delightful treat. The jams here are unique, not just because they come in four different flavors, but also because they are seasoned with a touch of alcohol or a mix of fruits, offering a surprisingly delightful taste. The jam flavors also vary daily.
