Chiang Mai 2 days 1 night, focusing on eating until you burst
This trip focused on exploring Chiang Mai, exploring food, temples, and cafes, all in 2 days and 1 night. Experience Lanna culture and the laid-back vibes of the North. We flew directly from Suvarnabhumi Airport to Chiang Mai Airport, which took just over an hour. From the airport, getting into the city was easy. You can choose to take a bus, taxi, or Grab, and reach Nimmanhaeminda in 15–20 minutes.
Don't miss these stops: Wat Lok Moli, an ancient temple that still retains its beautiful and enchanting Lanna architecture. Nimmanhaeminda is home to delicious restaurants, charming cafes, and shopping. Finally, we visit Maya Lifestyle Shopping Center, whose rooftop offers stunning mountain and sunset views.
Getting around the city is easy with Grab, motorbike taxis, or simply strolling. Don't miss the photo spots in front of Wat Lok Moli, the 7sense Gelato cafe, and the rooftop of Maya Mall, which boasts a stunning view.
When it comes to food, this trip to Chiang Mai is a foodie paradise. The larb kua moo from Maha Laab or Huen Muen Jai is the best. 7sense Gelato's pistachio gelato is truly mouthwatering. Enjoy crispy vegetable Chang Phueak sukiyaki, Michelin-starred Nimman Khao Soi, and the coconut cake from Baan Piemsuk. Make sure to get there before they close at 7 PM.
We chose the Nimano Suite, a lovely room with a comfortable bed, Netflix, a swimming pool, and a lovely breakfast set that's well worth the price.
There are a few caveats: some cafes close early. Wat Lok Moli is very sunny during the day, so visit early or late in the evening. During festivals, popular restaurants are packed, so allow plenty of time to wait in line.
