If you have been to the church observatory in the Old Town in other Baltic countries, I recommend using the Academy of Sciences observatory in Riga. The Old Town observatories are located in the center of the Old Town, so if you focus on that, the Academy of Sciences observatory can see the entire city of Riga. What I like most is that it is spacious and comfortable. The church observatory has a nice feel, but... it is too narrow... On top of Stalinist-style structure building from 1961, You can see panorama 360 view from 17 floors of Riga, and I think would be better in evening there has sunset from top view of Riga. And before leave the building, If you feel hungry, the bottom floor there is a small restaurant located, the tastes are acceptable and worth price a seller are kind.

The variety of local foods—smoked fish, dark rye bread, and pickled vegetables—was incredible. At night, I discovered Riga’s modern side, with cozy bars and a lively music scene. Riga is walkable, but public transport is efficient and cheap. Be sure to try the famous Riga Balsam liqueur, and don’t skip the panoramic view from St. Peter’s Church. Riga may not always be on the typical Europe itinerary, but it definitely should be!
