Review: Honeymoon Insights from Seychelles
I’m sharing this review after our honeymoon in Seychelles (August 2025), spanning three weeks exploring Mahé, Praslin, and La Digue. The following notes reflect what I wish I had known ahead of booking. Le Domaine de L’Orangeraie Advice • Stay away from Anse Source D’Argent—it’s packed with visitors, making it challenging to enjoy its beauty amid the crowd. • Renting a bicycle to explore both coasts of the island is highly recommended. • Six nights felt excessive; four nights would have been ample, as most of the island can be covered in that period. Pros • Perfectly central location, just a short walk from the town, shops, bars, and eateries. • Positioned on a lovely beach offering fantastic snorkeling—we saw two stingrays, a manta ray, and an array of colorful fish. • The restaurant views are stunning—you can relish breakfast while observing fish in the clear sea. • The food quality is exceptional, providing a wide range for both meat lovers and vegetarians. The nightly themed dinners add excitement, with everything fresh. • Creole night entertainment is superb, featuring live music and traditional Creole dancing. • Thoughtful honeymoon extras: we enjoyed 10% off a 90-minute massage and a complimentary beach buffet dinner in a secluded gazebo. • Hotel offers bike rental (~€15 per day). • Gorgeous infinity pool complemented by attentive waiter service at both poolside and beach loungers. Cons • Our honeymoon package promised a free bottle of fizz and local treats. We requested these four times and were reassured by various staff members, yet they never arrived during our six-night stay. • Some of the pool towels had an unpleasant smell, seemingly due to being folded away while still damp.
