Fukuoka's new shopping mall, LaLaport
I only knew about Canal City, but I heard the newly opened, massive shopping mall, LaLaport, was famous, so I decided to visit. The massive Gundam at Gundam Park was worth seeing, and there were lines starting on the first floor. The famous bakery and supermarket, Hokkaido Fair, had a variety of clothing brands, including Loft, on the second and third floors. I was especially happy to see so many stores I wanted to visit, like Polo Ralph Lauren Logos.
Because there were so many stores and the building was so large, I recommend checking out a map or guidebook and moving around.
On the third floor, I went to Kamimura Ranch, a domestic (Japanese) beef buffet. It included a drink bar, Ishiyaki bibimbap (stone pot bibimbap), Morioka naengmyeon (cold noodles similar to chewy noodles), Korean-style naengmyeon (cold noodles), sushi, and rice, plus dessert. I ended up overeating.
There were also plenty of light meals, like tendon (tempura rice bowl) and udon (udon), with long lines. The food court offered a wide variety of food, including conveyor belt sushi, Korean food, and even kimbap. If I visit Fukuoka again, I want to spend more time going to this hot place.
