[2025 Tokyo Attraction] Travel Guide for Meguro Sky Garden (Updated Apr)

Spring is coming! So here is my recommendation of sakura spots you guys should visit on upcoming spring: 1. Meguro River (free entry) This is the most magical cherry blossom spot ive ever encountered, the whole sakura-lined stretch is about 5 km-long, from Gotanda to Meguro Sky Garden. You dont have to fight for a spot of picture no matter how crowded it is as the sakura line is pretty long~ if you have more time to spend, you can actually stay until dark for a total different experience because the lanterns light up and illuminate on the trees 2.Asakusa Sensoji temple (free entry) The oldest temple in Tokyo, you will find this temple on everyone’ itinerary list. If you happen to visit during the sakura season, you will spot a bunch of sakura trees behind the temple. Dont forget to rent your kimono 👘 3. Inokashira park (free entry) A home to 500 sakura trees and half of it planted around the large pond. You can rent a boat and enjoy paddling on the ponds surrounded by dreamy sakura trees. Unfortunately, i visited the park when it was raining, so i didnt manage to rent and paddle the boat. So next time~ 4. Ueno park (free entry) I guess the sakura in this park is early blooming? Because i visited in late march and most of the petals has fallen🤧 it’s a long walk inside the park and then you could actually find some food vendors like yakisoba, dango, etc 5. Shinjuku Gyoen (not free) It’s on my and everyone’ wishlist. I didnt manage to visit it in 2023. Located on the 9th floor above a highway, this rooftop garden feels like a secret oasis. It’s surprisingly lush and full of seasonal flowers—hard to believe you’re still in the middle of the city. Since it’s only accessible by stairs or elevator, it stays quiet and chill even on weekends. I visited in spring and was greeted by colorful blooms and fresh greenery. There are benches scattered around, making it a great place to relax with a book or enjoy a little picnic. It’s definitely one of Tokyo’s most underrated green spaces! The 9th floor of the adjacent high-rise apartment "Cross Air Tower", which also includes the Meguro Ward Ohashi Library and supermarkets, is directly connected by deck. This is the highest place in the park, and you can see Mt. Fuji on a nice day.

This March in Japan, it's cherry blossom season, and the cherry blossoms 🌸 take center stage, from Kawazu town to Miura coast, from Kawazu-zakura, Kan-hizakura to O-kanzakura, Akame-zakura, a half-month marathon through twenty cherry blossom spots, has been beautiful, indeed intoxicating, right?
