You have to try the marinated hot pot when you come to Chaozhou.
Only know about beef hot pot when you come to Chaoshan? You're out of date~ Marinated hot pot is also very famous!
This restaurant is famous for its marinated hot pot. The exclusive marinated soup is salty and fresh, and the soup base has a variety of flavors. Each person has a pot, which is clean and hygienic👌
-
Goose palm, goose liver, and goose intestine are also must-order dishes for marinated hot pot! The boss said it was Chaoshan lion head goose!
The goose liver is big, and it is tender and fragrant with the marinated soup. It melts in your mouth and is very good! The goose intestine is thick and fat... It is salty and refreshing after being marinated🦢
Beef is a hanging dragon, don't miss it‼️ The meat is tender and juicy~
-
If you're tired of eating, you can try the craft beer and root number mountain coffee here☕️ The taste is very authentic👌
-
This marinated hot pot restaurant is very close to Han Wen Gong Temple and Thai Buddha Hall. After eating, you can go for a walk and digest~

Han Yu Culture in Chaozhou: A Millennium Agreement, the Taste Remains Fresh
Today begins with a bowl of Chaozhou beef offal kway teow.
Ends with Shantou night porridge and raw marinated seafood.
Han Wen Gong Temple summary: Even though he was exiled, it did not prevent him from achieving a leap in his life, and even influenced the cultural environment of the entire Chaozhou region. In just seven months of his tenure, he killed crocodiles, repaired water conservancy, redeemed and released slaves, and promoted education. Because of him, the Chaozhou people renamed their land, changing Crocodile Creek to Han River and Pen Rack Mountain to Han Mountain. This is Mr. Han Yu, the foremost of the Eight Great Prose Masters of the Tang and Song, and the teacher of Su Shi.
Everyone says Shantou is much better than Chaozhou, but I say not necessarilyƪ(˘⌣˘)ʃ
Even at this moment, being in the much more prosperous Shantou, I still wonder, is it Han Yu's Chaozhou, or Chaozhou's Han Yu(๑˃̵ᴗ˂̵)👍
Potato cakes, spring rolls, mung bean cakes, black sesame paste, almond tea, raw marinated crab and live shrimp, braised goose,

Shocking! Chaozhou actually produces such films!
I had heard about Chaozhou before, mainly because of the severe gender discrimination in the area, and I definitely experienced it during my half-day tour.
Chaozhou has a low population density, and buses will stop when you wave. When boarding, you need to tell the driver where you are going so they can charge you the correct fare. If you don't, you'll either be charged the maximum fare or get yelled at by the driver (to be honest, it's really scary when the driver starts shouting, and it seems like their operation isn't very regular. Who knows, I was on bus 101 going from Thai Buddha Temple to Han Gong Temple, and before reaching the last stop, the driver yelled at me to get off because he only went to the penultimate stop. I asked him why, and he looked like he was about to chop someone, it was terrifying jpq)
Back to the main topic, my route was Thai Buddha Temple to Han Wen Gong Temple to Guangji Bridge to Guangji Building to Pai Fang Street to Kaiyuan Temple to the high-speed train station. Han Wen Gong Temple was closed on Monday, so that was a wasted trip; Guangji Bridge had a half-price ticket of 10 yuan due to the weather; getting to Guangji Building could only be done by taxi, as it's not convenient by bus; the Thai Buddha Temple was under rough renovation, but there were many young ladies taking photos, which added some charm.
However, I was happy to encounter a super cute cat~ As soon as I squatted down to look at it, it rolled over and showed me its belly, I really am a cat magnet (shy face)

Han Mountain, Han River, and Han Gong Ci
Han Yu spent just over seven months in Chaozhou, Guangdong, and brought the advanced culture of the Central Plains to Lingnan. He drove away crocodiles, emancipated slaves, improved water conservancy, promoted education and talent cultivation, and did many good deeds for the people. He was worshipped as a deity by the locals, and the people of Chaozhou renamed the Penholder Mountain to Han Mountain, and the Crocodile Creek below it to Han River.
The Han Wen Gong Ci is located at the foot of Penholder Mountain in the east of Chaozhou City, Guangdong Province. It was first built in the second year of Xianping of the Northern Song Dynasty (999 AD) and is the earliest existing memorial temple for the Tang Dynasty literary figure Han Yu.
The Han Wen Gong Ci is backed by Han Mountain and faces the Han River. The main building is divided into two sections, front and back. The beams inside the temple are hung with plaques inscribed by famous writers, and the path in front of the temple is a straight stone stairway with fifty-one steps.

Chaozhou's Guangji Bridge: A Comprehensive Guide to the 'Bridge-Dismantling' Ritual Day After Day
Chaozhou's must-visit spot, the Guangji Bridge, is one of China's 'Four Ancient Bridges' and has been praised by bridge expert Mao Yisheng as 'the world's earliest open-close style bridge.' It was first built during the Southern Song Dynasty (1171).
👏 A full-day Guangji Bridge itinerary:
➡️ Pass through the ancient city and cross the Guangji Tower in the morning to see the boats come together to form the bridge
➡️ Spend 20💴 for a ticket to cross the bridge
➡️ Walk across the bridge to the Hanwen Gong Temple on the opposite bank, which is good for a half-day visit
➡️ Return from Guangji Bridge and enter the ancient city through the Xia Shui Men Tower into Paifang Street
➡️ Enjoy delicious food and stroll along Paifang Street in the afternoon
➡️ Watch the free Guangji Bridge light show at night
❓Do you need to buy another ticket to return from Hanwen Gong Temple across Guangji Bridge? ‼️ How to get a free pass ⚠️ Remember this:
When you walk from the Guangji Tower side to the exit on the Hanwen Gong Temple side
▶️ Find a staff member and show your Hanwen Gong Temple reservation page
▶️ They will direct you to the ticket office on the left side of the exit to register and get a stamp
▶️ On your return, you can cross the bridge for free with the stamped Guangji Bridge ticket and the Hanwen Gong Temple ticket (free of charge)!
(Note: It is not clear if this is still possible on holidays)
🚢 The floating bridge connection times are as follows:
February 1st—October 31st: 10:00—17:30
November 1st—January 31st: 10:00—16:30
⚠️ Note on holidays and weekends: 9:00—17:30
🌟 If you want to see the boats come together in the morning, you should arrive at least 40 minutes before the above connection times. (Don't be like that silly kid who arrived at 9:30 on the weekend thinking they could see it...)
🌟 If you want to witness the 'bridge-dismantling,' just get there before the last connection time. (Arriving early means shivering in the cold wind for nothing, like that silly kid named Jin Zhu La Mu...😂)
🎆 Guangji Bridge light show times and viewing spots at night:
Every night at 8:00 PM
Weekends at 8:00 PM and 9:30 PM
You should at least arrive 20 minutes early to secure a good spot (from Guangji Tower to Xia Shui Men Tower side, enjoy the view from the side of Guangji Bridge).
With this guide, you'll save at least 20 bucks and a lot of precious time. I've taken the detours so my 'jewels' don't have to.👏🌞
I am Jin Zhu La Mu, welcome to follow ♥️ and experience a different world together ✈️

Han Wen Gong Shrine
The site of Han Wen Gong Shrine is No. 18 Dongxing North Road, Xiangqiao District, Chaozhou City, Guangdong Province, that is, at the foot of Bijia Mountain in the east of Chaozhou City. Han Wen Gong Shrine was built in the second year of Xianping in the Northern Song Dynasty (999), and it is the earliest existing shrine in China to commemorate the Tang Dynasty literary scholar Han Yu. The Han Wen Gong Shrine is backed by Han Mountain and faces Han River. The main building is divided into two sections, front and back. The beams in the shrine are full of plaques written by famous artists. At the end of the corridor in front of the shrine, there is a straight stone step path with 51 steps. The front wall of the shrine body is nearly 90 cm high. The neat stone skirt board is built with flat and solid light green chopped brick walls. The brick walls are connected to the roof and the rafters. All along their respective curved surfaces are carefully chiseled to make the bricks and wood as tightly connected as the chopped brick seams below. The light green wall surface sets off the light and elegant and calm and solemn blue official script plaque of 'Han Wen Gong's Shrine' above the concave belly door in the middle. On May 25, 2006, the Han Wen Gong Shrine was announced by the State Council of the People's Republic of China as the sixth batch of national key cultural relics protection units.
