There is a first time for everything, and it was my first time trying extreme sports. I was going to try skydiving. I would have to jump 14,000 feet from a plane. This took place over the Mission beach and its invincible coastline.  I don’t fear heights, but I am afraid of dying. The thing that worried me was that my parachute wouldn’t open. When I tried it, it felt like I was getting an invisible hug. The wind was intense. After a minute of free falling, the parachute was opened. Once it was over, I wondered why it had to end so soon. Fortunately, I am still alive.

The entire city of Auckland is surrounded by the sea, and there are countless bays and beaches of various sizes. Generally speaking, BAYs are relatively large in scale and have complete facilities. Any beach close to the sea can be called a BEACH. For us, the landlubber tourists from Beijing, we were pleasantly surprised when we saw the sea, and we were still excited after visiting so many bays and beaches. Mission Bay, also translated as Church Bay (MISSION BAY), is wide and you can overlook the volcanic island and the city horizon in the distance. The beach and the wooded lawns on the shore are large and suitable for setting up tents. The fountain in the center is luxurious. There is a children's playground and complete bathing and changing facilities, and the bay can accommodate a large number of tourists. On the second day of Christmas, many locals did not choose BOXING DAY, the shopping day when the discount season begins, but instead flocked to the bay. The temperature was about 24 or 25 degrees Celsius at the time. Many people went swimming, and more were just relaxing at the beach. Some large families set up huge tents and barbecue grills. Some are sunbathing, some are meditating, some are chatting... The small restaurants and coffee shops across the street are so crowded that you have to drive a long way to find a parking space. I have experienced the New Zealanders' 3B view (BEACH, BOAT, BARBECUE). It is best to drive to Mission Bay, and there are many buses that stop there.

In the Michael Joseph Savage Memorial Park near Mission Bay in Auckland, you can easily find a blue bench on the hillside behind the monument. This is one of the places where the movie 'Only Cloud Knows' directed by Feng Xiaogang was filmed. Near the end of the film, the male protagonist (played by Huang Xuan) who lost his wife, sits quietly there. 'Only Cloud Knows' is adapted by Feng Xiaogang based on the real life experiences of a friend. Two Beijing students stayed in the beautiful countryside of New Zealand, opened a Chinese restaurant, and worked hard together, full of hope and longing for life. The blue bench witnessed the passage of time and the years, and condensed the intimate and warm love of the two. The blue bench on the lawn is not as bright as in the film. Some Chinese students or domestic tourists will come here, sit on the bench, look into the distance, and reminisce about the famous lines in the movie: My liking for you, only the cloud knows, I am the wind, you are the cloud, the days with you, are the days I want. The location of the blue chair faces the sea, with the sparkling sea, the Sky Tower and the city area across the sea, and the picturesque scenery.

The morning sun of New Year's Day 2024 is brilliant, and the breeze is breezy. The beaches of Auckland are crowded with people. Some people set up tents and have a picnic with their families, and the smell of barbecue is wafting. Young people are playing beach volleyball. Elegant elderly people are chatting under the Christmas tree, and the seaside cafes are hard to find... People are greeting each other HAPPY NEW YEAR!
