The torii gate underwater at high tide is quite picturesque, but at low tide it looks a whole different way. You can walk right up to it and get a feel for its size. Miyajima is home to cultural heritage sites such as an aquarium, a ropeway, and temples and shrines, and is so full of sights that you could spend a whole day on the island alone. In recent years, activities such as SUP have also become more popular. There are also many souvenir shops and other establishments along the road, so it's fun to eat your way around. However, be aware that the shops close early in the evening and at night. It may be safer to eat dinner outside the island.

Tempura momiji is a dish where they use homemade cake-like bun filled with different fillings and fry them with tempura batter. It’s very tasty! This shop is located in Miyajima, a 10 minutes ferry ride from Miyajimaguchi station. It takes around 30 mins bus ride from hiroshima station to miyajimaguchi station. There are lots of things to see and lots of food to try on this island~ Please do lah a visit there ~ It is best to visit during Sakura season where you can enjoy the view and food at the same time ~

Itsukushima Shrine is a Shinto shrine on Miyajima Island which is near Hiroshima. It is best known for its big floating torii gate . Miyajima can be reached by ferry from Hiroshima or from Miyajimaguchi- which is faster. after getting off at Miyajima guchi train station, simply walk toward the ferry pier. On the weekend there is often a large crowd so following them would likely lead you to the ferry terminal. There are two ferry companies running ferries between Miyajimaguchi and Miyajima; the JR ferry and the Miyajima Matsudai Kisen. Both have large passenger ferries and costs ¥360 round trip for the 10 minutes ride. there are four ferries per hour between 8-6pm, and less frequent schedules in the early and evening hours. After arriving to the island, turn right and walk for 10-15 minutes to reach the shrine. Weekends are particularly busy with tourists so getting there early would help. There are also many deer roaming around so beware of not feeding them with food- they will follow you! Itsukushima Shrine, the symbol of Miyajima✨ The large-scale renovation of the large torii gate has finally been completed, and it has regained its former vitality😆 Itsukushima Shrine, which is registered as a World Heritage Site, is as popular as you would expect, and there are lines at the ticket office during the day😳🎫 If you want to enjoy photos without people and a quiet space, we highly recommend staying overnight in Miyajima❕ It was worth getting up early at dawn, as I was able to enjoy the majestic morning atmosphere and take beautiful photos without people☺️ However, since it was low tide that morning, it looked like it was floating on the sea. I couldn't take any good photos 😅 But instead I was able to walk up to the large torii gate ⛩ The size and beauty of the shrine is overwhelming when you see it up close 🙌🏻 If you can get there at low tide, please be sure to go up close 👍🏻 The recommended photo spot is the stairs leading to the five-story pagoda and Senjokaku 👀 This is a very nice place, but it's surprisingly unknown, so there aren't many people and it's a hidden gem 🫢💓 It was a little early for cherry blossoms in Miyajima in early March, but they usually bloom from the end of March to early April, so be sure to try to go during cherry blossom season 🦌🌸 #Domestic travel#Miyajima #Hiroshima Prefecture

When visiting Miyajima Island in Japan, you have the option to climb up to Mt. Misen to see the whole island from its highest point. My favourite part of this journey is the breeze you get when you reach the very top. It was by no means a easy walk as paths aren’t properly crafted. On the way up to the peak you’ll see tons of geographical land formations, small temples and even mini statues that some people dress up! It is absolutely adorable! At the peak of the mountain there is a lookout point where you can enjoy the success of your trek up the mountain. Something cool about being here is that you can see the even smaller island where they grow and harvest oysters. I’ve been told that the way oysters are grown and harvested in Hiroshima is unique as they wait for them to weigh down the wooden planks before harvesting them. The Itsukushima Otori Gate is a sight to behold. It’s truly one of the most amazing pieces of history that you’ll ever come across. This gate is HUGE. It is truly massive. And it’s one of those things that you wouldn’t be able to understand until you actually visit it. I really enjoyed just being around it and talking to people about the history and cultural significance of it. This particular gate survived the atomic bomb that was dropped on Hiroshima in 1945. On top of that significant history pointer, this gate is also a key cultural piece that acts as a gate between the human and spirit world. Since I want to be able to play longer in Miyajima, book this hotel, including breakfast and dinner. The hotel is conveniently located just two minutes from the pier. The room is very chic, divided into two floors, the lower floor is the living room where you can watch TV, facing the mountain view, and the upper floor is the sleeping place. This is a hot spring hotel, but the room also has a bathtub, if you do not like to soak in the hot spring in the large bath can also soak in the room. The hot spring offers endless sea views, which is really relaxing and relaxing. There are also free ice cream bars to eat after soaking in the hot springs, with several flavors to choose from.
