North Island, New Zealand | There is a kind of blue in New Zealand called Tauranga | Gradient bay can be seen from the hills
Itinerary|
Starting from Auckland, you can arrange a one- or two-day short trip to Tauranga. For lunch, choose a Vietnamese restaurant in the city center. In the afternoon, climb Mount Maunganui (about a 30-minute walk) to overlook the bay. In the evening, you can find a restaurant and pub on the main street to experience the local holiday atmosphere.
Transportation|
The most convenient way is to drive yourself. It takes about 2-2.5 hours to drive from Auckland. There are paid parking spaces in the city, and you can visit the main attractions on foot.
Recommended experience|
The blue of Tauranga is different from the dreamy blue of Tekapo and the cold blue of Pukaki. It is a gradient blue full of the flavor of the sea and life. Sitting on the street drinking hot soup and feeling the cool breeze, the heat and the smell of the soup surround your body while making you truly relax. Climbing up Mount Maunganui and looking out over the bay, you can occasionally come across sheep grazing and yachts floating on the sea. Everything is peaceful and vibrant. This is a good place to slow down, appreciate and breathe.
