#springitinerary
Last weekend, I traded my city chaos for the misty mountains of Myitkyina—and wow, Kachin State did not disappoint. Here’s the lowdown on my adventure, complete with a snake surprise (😱), next-level noodles, and a secret sunset spot!
🌄 The Vibe
Myitkyina feels like stepping into a postcard: emerald rice fields, the Irrawaddy River glinting gold at dusk, and streets buzzing with motorbikes and longyi-clad locals. The air smells like woodsmoke and lahpet (fermented tea leaves)—earthy and addictive.
🤣 The "Oh-Crap" Moment
At Indawgyi Lake, I was living my best life—until I almost sat on a tiny, nope-rope snake 🐍 sunbathing on a rock. Cue me screeching like a startled chicken while a laughing fisherman shooed it away. Pro tip: Watch your step!
🍜 Foodie Heaven
Breakfast was Kachin-style shwe htamin (turmeric sticky rice with sesame) at a street stall—sweet, buttery, and way too easy to devour. But the MVP? A hidden noodle shack near the market (no English sign, just follow the locals!). Their Kachin mala noodles—chewy, spicy, and swimming in garlic oil—left me in a happy food coma.
💎 Hidden Gem: Mali Yang Waterfall
Most tourists hit Myitsone, but locals tipped me off to Mali Yang, 30 minutes from town. I waded through jungle streams (hello, questionable balance) to a turquoise pool under cascading water. Pure magic.
⏳ Quick Itinerary
7 AM: Sunrise at Irrawaddy Riverside (bring coffee!).
9 AM: Market chaos + shwe htamin feast.
12 PM: Motorbike to Indawgyi Lake (swim, dodge snakes).
5 PM: Sunset at Mali Yang (worth the hike!).
7 PM: Noodle shack mission + street strolling.
Final Tip
Pack light, expect zero Wi-Fi, and say yes to every snack offered. Myitkyina’s charm is in its raw, unfiltered energy—plus, the noodles will haunt your dreams (in the best way).
Who’s coming with me next time? 🙋♂️ #KachinVibes

The quiet
The quiet little town is shrouded in wonderful clouds, exuding fascinating poetry. Whether it is sunny or cloudy, it is always picturesque and fascinating.
The entire town of Franais is extended by a straight street. Walking here, two times is a beautiful village, a neat house, and an unpredictable sea of clouds.
The occasional passing schoolchildren, either smiling or dignified, add a lot of vitality to the place. The pattering rain was over the village; it was a gloomy afternoon, but it became different because of the warm and hospitable villagers.
An accident, because the sky was drizzling, and a family who arrived at the card sheltered from the rain and was exposed to this quiet village. The village sits quietly on top of the mountain, a muddy road passing by it, connecting the village of the Flange and the provincial capital Hakafran, always surrounded by beautiful clouds, red strong tiles, green The trees make up a wonderful picture.
Every visitor in the past will be deeply impressed by its beautiful and spectacular sight. Strolling through the village, in addition to the beautiful scenery, and the enthusiastic people, always show a sweet smile, warmly welcome every guest and friends who come far away. Local residents, living in the distant horizon;
through the gap, I saw the spray alone slipped to the horizon. The small town with smoke and smoke is like sitting on the horizon. Because the people of Chin State are more Christian, there is a magnificent cathedral in the heart of the town of Franais.

Located on
Located on a hill above Yingdaoji Lake, there is a quiet Buddhist temple. It is not easy to get here because the path up the mountain is hidden in the jungle. Under the guidance of the villagers, I was able to find this temple.
The temple itself does not have much special features. But the view here is very broad, and you can clearly see the whole picture from the hard to almost the surrounding villages.

It is the laid-back town depicted by George Weir in The Year of Myanmar. The club in the novel has now become an agricultural cooperative, and the beautiful customs of the novel are still being played day and night in this quiet town.
Today, it has restored the tranquility and peace of the past, but it is still full of charm, especially those beautiful smiles that are unforgettable.

The simple
The simple Jiesha Temple is located next to the town of Jessica. Although the temple does not have too grand buildings, it is entrusted with the good wishes of the people of Jessah, waiting for the kind people in this land.
Into the temple, there is no exaggerated architectural style, there are no endless visitors, and some are just the peace and quiet.

Kachin Sta
Kachin State, Myanmar is the most mysterious and unruly state. The Kachin people in China have close ethnic origins.
In recent years, the armed forces in Kachin State have continued to launch rebellion, making Kachin State a crisis. Traveling to the Kachin village in the mountains is almost impossible.
The secret is in the Kachin village deep in the mountains. This is the farthest place where foreigners are allowed to arrive.
However, here, you feel a serene, peaceful atmosphere, without any atmosphere under the shadow of war. The people in the village are also very friendly.

The faint villages, the endless greens, and the undulating hilltops, exquisite and spectacular pagodas appear in front of you. The train has already arrived in the territory of Victoria. Here, it has the most beautiful pastoral scenery. Especially in the early morning, the clouds shrouded the entire village, and it was as dreamlike as a dream.
The dark clouds pressed the sky very low, and a beam of sunlight shone on the white bridge across the river. The scene was extraordinarily charming. A few small boats, quietly lying in the quiet lake under the mountain, as beautiful as a picture.

When the train stopped at the train station again, it had entered the hinterland of central Kachin. Zhang Qi is a famous timber producing area in Myanmar. Every day, there is a lot of wood, which starts from here and is shipped to all parts of Myanmar.
arrived in the last town of Mourning in front of Myitkyina, the landscape along the way has become more spectacular. A stunning bridge, a quiet lake. This wonderful picture shows Kachin State showing its most mysterious and beautiful side to the world.

Take the train from Mandalay and go north to Myitkyina for nearly 40 hours. This is the most rare and rare experience, combining Myanmar's magnificent natural landscape with vivid human landscape. Experience the purest Burmese life with the swaying north train.
The crowded townscape suddenly disappeared, and large farmland and villages began to appear. The train had entered the mysterious Kachin State. Niang Ke, guarding the southern gate of Kachin, a quiet, peaceful country town.
