Naples tour must visit: Naples Duomo Napoli Cathedral in Naples is very important position, like the main church in other Italian cities, the cathedral is also a white spire. The Duomo of Naples was built in 1272 and was ordered by Charles I of the Anjou family (Anjou). The nave of the church is very large with a gorgeous inlay on the top. The 1456 earthquake destroyed the church and, after numerous reconstructions, became the new Gothic look. It doesn't look so special from the appearance, it is simple, compared to the cathedrals of metropolises such as Milan, the cathedral of Naples may look a little inferior in appearance. But the interior is much more refined. The carvings inside are very fine, the atmosphere inside the church is strong, many masses and important events are held here, and the annual San Gennaro festival is also held in the cathedral. When we entered a small chapel inside the church, just a beam of sunlight projected through the glass, projected on the interior of the golden decoration, looked exceptionally beautiful, just like the Bible: " God says that there is light, and there is light."

Naples was the first stop for our mother and son pair 2 weeks trip to Italy. We were only spending 2 days here before we went to Rome, so it was quite a packed itinerary. Our B&B, DomisCarmela was located at the heart of the Spanish Quarters, and took a 20mins transfer from the airport to the place. There was a bit of apprehension about Naples, from friends and online talking about the cleanliness and crime of the city. The city however, was actually quite clean, and we felt generally safe there. The streets were quite quiet and there wasn't much people in the morning, but when afternoon came, the streets were very crowded. Everywhere we wanted to go was quite accessible, and we walked to majority of the sites, with an exception to Castel Sant Elmo where we had to take a funicular up and down from the city. We spent the whole day walking around, taking in the lovely culture of the streets, visiting world class museums and having delicious local food. We even went for a tour of the underground network underneath Naples, which was well documented and explained by our local guide. Overall, it was a great start and exposure to our Italy trip, and I recommend naples to anyone thinking of coming. We could have spend 1-2 more days so as to enjoy the place even more, but we felt that it was enough. Off the Rome next! #naples #travel #italy

#0yentravelJanuary2025 ▼Naples, the largest city in southern Italy It takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes by train from Rome to get to Naples I want to eat authentic pizza! To make my dream come true 🍕 The pizza I actually ate was the best I've ever had in my life! 🥹 As expected of Naples, a treasure trove of food!! Even the pizza at a restaurant I just popped into without looking at reviews was delicious. The cheese and ham were delicious too!! There are many tourist attractions and world heritage sites, and I was impressed by the Naples Cathedral. When traveling with children, I always give them pocket money in local money and try to buy things they want themselves. I suggest that if possible, they try to say thank you in the local language. My daughter is shy, but I bought a cat toy that I could buy in Japan for about 7€, and she was able to say "Grazie!" ☺️ She also takes the initiative to play in the local park to relax. #OverseasFlightEvent Duomo di Napoli I was tired of the chaos of Naples and visited many cathedrals, so I wasn't that impressed.. but I was still amazed at how Italian cathedrals are all unique and can be so splendid in their own unique ways. I was lucky enough to see the ordination ceremony. It's a place worth visiting.
