•Founded: Built in 940 to pray for the suppression of the Taira no Masakado Rebellion
•Denomination and deity: Shingon sect Chizan school. The deity is Acala, said to have been created by Kobo Daishi, and is the center of goma prayer.
⛩ Main attractions
•Main gate: Built in 2008, about 15m tall, made of keyaki wood with beautiful carvings of the twelve zodiac animals.
•Niomon gate: Rebuilt in 1831 as a nationally designated important cultural property, with a powerful Kongo Rikishi statue.
•Main hall: Built in 1968. Visitors are free to worship, and goma prayers are held almost every day.
•Three-story pagoda, Komyodo, Shakado, etc.: Many of the buildings were built between 1701 and 1858, and all of them are designated as important cultural properties.
•On the main approach, you can enjoy Narita specialties such as eel, Japanese sweets, and traditional crafts.
🌳 Naritasan Park
The vast park (approximately 165,000 m2) adjacent to the temple is maintained in a Japanese garden style with a pond, waterfall, and floating hall, and you can enjoy the nature of the four seasons.
🔥 Goma prayer
Goma prayer, in which fire is used to burn away worldly desires to Acala, is held five times on weekdays and about eight times on weekends and holidays, and is especially popular with worshippers who make "prayers". The majestic flames, chanting, and the power of the large drums are overwhelming.

•From the entrance to the main hall: Approximately 15 minutes.
•Touring the main temples: About 1.5 hours.
