Beijing Travel|Museums that don't require reservations.
🌟A friend I met online 6 years ago said he wanted to visit Beijing. Before he came, I repeatedly reminded him to make reservations for attractions in advance, but he didn't listen to me at all. Fortunately, as a local, I know all kinds of free attractions, and I don't need to make a reservation to see the real things~
·
📖You must have heard of the National Library, but how many people know that there is a National Museum of Classic Books here, which is small and unpopular, but the things are real, and the key is free and no reservation is required, just because of this, you must not miss it!
·
🚥The transportation here is very convenient. Take Metro Line 4 to the National Library Station and get off. Exit from Exit A (Northwest Exit) and walk about 100 meters to get there.

📚This year happens to be the 115th anniversary of the establishment of the National Library. The National Library has specially planned the "Outstanding Traditional Chinese Culture Classic Exhibition" for this purpose, which is located on the first floor of the National Museum of Classic Books. This exhibition has joined 8 libraries and museums across the country, and has collected a total of 54 kinds of precious exhibits. 75 volumes are very worth seeing~
·
📝The key exhibits include the Song Chunxi seven years (1180) Chi Yangjunzhai engraved version of "Shan Hai Jing" collected by the National Library, the Song Shaoxing two to three years (1132-1133) Liangzhe East Road Tea Salt Division Public Library engraved version of "Zizhi Tongjian", and Shandong Museum Collection "Gongdian" Oracle Bones, etc...
·
📷Here is a special reminder that this exhibition involves many real objects. When you take photos for commemoration, you must remember to turn off the flash. Some books are exposed to the flash for a second, which is equivalent to several years of damage!

The National Museum of Classic Books presents Tea and the World
⭐️ Tea originated in China, and was initially used as an offering. However, from the late Spring and Autumn period, it was consumed as a vegetable, and by the middle Western Han dynasty, it was used medicinally. It wasn't until the later Western Han dynasty that it became a high-class court beverage, and it only spread to the general public as a common drink after the Western Jin dynasty.
🌟 The earliest evidence of artificially cultivated tea was found at the Tianluoshan site in Yuyao, Zhejiang, which has a history of over 6,000 years. Tea drinking began in China. The leaves are leathery, oblong or oval-shaped, and can be brewed directly with boiling water. Based on variety, production method, and product shape, they are divided into six main categories.
🍀 Depending on the season of harvest, teas are categorized as spring, summer, autumn, and winter teas. Re-processed teas are made from various raw or refined teas, including flower tea, compressed tea, extracted tea, medicinal health tea, tea-based food products, and tea-containing beverages.
✨ This exhibition is a focused display of tea culture classics, starting from the perspective of classic texts to comprehensively showcase Chinese tea culture, allowing visitors to savor the 'fragrance of tea and the charm of books' in a journey through precious classics and intangible cultural heritage items.
‼️ There are also free guided tours every day! Guided tour time🕰 2 PM daily at Exhibition Hall 1 of the National Museum of Classic Books
🔴 Exhibition address: National Museum of Classic Books

Buried for 1700 years, the light of ancient Greek and Roman civilization
Recently, the National Archaeological Museum of Naples in Italy brought some exquisite artifacts and artworks unearthed from the ancient city of Pompeii to Beijing, and held an exhibition "The Myth of Pompeii" in the 7th and 8th exhibition halls on the 4th floor of the National Library of Ancient Books.
In 79 AD, the eruption of Mount Vesuvius submerged Pompeii and Herculaneum, and it was not until 1700 years later that people discovered this once glorious ancient city.
The buried Pompeii and Herculaneum are the living fossils of ancient Greek and Roman civilization, which once contained the glory of prosperity, richness and culture. These two ancient cities, like a time machine, take us back to the heyday of the Roman Empire.
The unearthed bronze sculptures, glassware, murals, mosaics, and red-painted pottery show the life scenes of the people of Pompeii during the ancient Greek and Roman times, and their economic and artistic levels have reached a higher level.
In that ancient era, Pompeii and Herculaneum were the halls of culture and art. People's lives were rich, artists created countless masterpieces, and the prosperity of the city was breathtaking. The streets here are bustling, the markets are busy, and every corner is pulsating with civilization.
