Hong Kong Beginner's Guide to Traveling - Food 🥟🍙🍸🍰🍜
A food review from someone who's been to Hong Kong three times!
(I don't travel much, but three times is a lot!!…)
1️⃣ Won Dim Sum
🔹Location: G/F, 209A Tung Choi St, Prince Edward, Hong Kong
🔸 Menu
1. No. 28 Glutinous Rice with Pork & Chicken
2. No. 27 Pork Dumplings with Shrimp
3. No. 53 Mango Pudding
I also had shrimp tempura, Chang Fun, and more.
We went in around 8 PM, and it was packed! I saw not only locals but also foreigners.
Ordering is done in the Kimbap Nara style: just check the number of the dish you want!

There must be a reason I memorized those three dishes, right? Even now, a week after returning from Hong Kong, these are the things I still remember. 🤗
1. First of all, number 28 was a kick: the sweet, soy-based meats on the sticky rice were a real treat. I ordered it because I was craving rice without thinking, but it was so delicious that I ate every last drop.
2. Isn't this the most basic of dim sum? The large, plump shrimp were delicious. But I think this is delicious at any Hong Kong dim sum place.
I think the only thing that sets this place apart is the freshness and plumpness.
3. "Wow...!! This is so delicious~~"
Actually, I ordered this by mistake... but I actually liked it! It was so delicious.
Shocking! It was sweet, just the right amount! Oh my!
Next time I go, I'll definitely try these three dishes!
I don't think I'll bother with the other dishes. The chang fun and fried shrimp in particular aren't my style... ㅠㅠ It was a shame!
2️⃣ KFC Egg Tarts
When you think of Hong Kong, you think of egg tarts, right?!
I always seem to eat three a day when I go.
The day I arrived, it was late, so I went to a nearby KFC and tried an egg tart. KFC is already famous in Korea for its egg tarts, but seeing that they had a pistachio egg tart, I couldn't pass it up, being a pistachio lover. 🤓
I was expecting the Vera Pistachio flavor, but what the heck? It tasted like the real thing!
It wasn't as good as the freshly made egg tarts at places like Fiata Pizza, but I was still satisfied.
3️⃣ Fiata Pizza
🔹Location: 2 Staunton St, Central, Hong Kong
🔸Menu
1. 195 PROVOLA E PEPE
2. 80 TIRAMISU
3. BURRATA AFFUMICATE
I made a reservation for 12:30, but I was like, "What the heck…?" ?' It was already full🥲 So when I told the manager I had a reservation, they said the reservation system was broken and they couldn't confirm it. ㅠ.ㅠ I had no choice but to sit at the outdoor seating area that just opened up, but it was so hot that they told me to move inside when a seat opened up. After waiting for about 5 minutes, I went in and ate in the cool air!

Overall, this pizza place was delicious.. Chubereup!!🤤
This place is a huge achievement for being in the top 5 of the world's best pizza places!
To sum up the pizza in one word: "Is there no tail collection?!" This is the first time I've ever had such delicious tiramisu at a place like this. Honestly, you can taste the top part at any good pizza place, but the bottom was chewy and savory, so delicious. ㅠㅠ I just wanted to keep eating it..🤭
I saw on Jeon Hyun-moo's Plan 2 that the tiramisu here was delicious, so I tried it. I'm not usually a fan of tiramisu, but the coffee flavor on top of the cream was amazing. It was really good!! ㅠㅠ The cream felt greasy after a bite or two, but my friends who went with me said it was delicious and ate it all up!!
I recommend trying it if you go!
4️⃣ Bakehouse
If you've been to Hong Kong or are planning to go, you'll definitely know this place!
It's so famous for its egg tarts, we waited about 7 minutes before getting in. Last time I was in Hong Kong, it was just opening time, but it was so crowded that we had to wait again! The egg tarts here are so sweet and addictive, I have to have one a day😙
5️⃣ Shake Shack
I actually stopped in here to take a break, but they had a pistachio Dubai shake, so I ordered one. + Oh, and lemonade too.
"The pistachio powder is so nutty, and the crunchy kadayif in between is addictive..."
The fact that we ate it and ordered it again and again proves this point. Haha.
I was so addicted, I couldn't stop slurping.
If you love Dubai, you should definitely go and try this!!
6️⃣ Tim Ho Wan
🔹 Location: Shop 12A & 12B, Level 1, MTR Hong Kong Station, Central, Hong Kong
🔸 Menu
1. No. 13: Roselle-infused Crispy Red Rice Rolls with Shrimp
2. No. 22: Signature BBQ Pork Rice with Fried Egg
3. No. 29: Sichuan Spicy Wonton in Chilli Oil
I also ordered a few other items!
We arrived around 5 p.m., but it was already crowded.
I heard this place is a Michelin-starred restaurant.
⭕️ Best Menu Item ⭕️
I liked No. 22 the best. The noodles were delicious, and the meat tasted a bit like fried Dongpo pork?! The combination of the two was delicious!!
Honestly, I was a bit disappointed with this place. It tasted like something I'd find elsewhere. The shrimp roe was a bit small, so the won dim sum I tried first was better. Overall, this place wasn't as good as its reputation suggests. 🥲
I don't think I'll be back.
This is how I reviewed the restaurants I visited.
Part 2 will be about Macau restaurants. Thank you for your patience. ♥️
