We found the town of Banyoles. The town enjoys an unrivalled natural setting between the Roccacorba Mountains and the Fluvia and Tere Rivers.
Surrounded by green hills and located on the shores of Lake Banyoles, the city center is organized around two locations: Vila Vella, which houses the Church of Santa María del Turers (14th century) and the neoclassical Monastery of Sant Esteve; and Vila Nova, whose most interesting point is its arcaded square, where we can find many ancient buildings. The town's historical heritage also includes the 14th century medieval building Pia Almoina and the 15th century Llotja del Tint. Visitors should also not miss the Regional Archaeological Museum, which exhibits items such as a Neanderthal jawbone. The lakeside is also a good choice for sightseeing. At various points along the six-kilometer perimeter we can rent boats for rowing, fishing or canoeing.
